I was last at the TT in 2008. This is definitely a bucket-list destination.
It's pretty insane how many people die there every year, over 200 racers alone in the history of the event. This number excludes the public, who they allow to run on the course in the opening days, and often 3-5 die every single year.
The attitude is that it is dangerous, and you take personal responsibility for participating. This is why this could never happen in North America.
