FYI: CDN Tire will have Shell Rotella T6 on sale

Just a heads up for you guys in the West, closest store to me is the Caledonia & Eglinton location. They only had 0w40 in stock, an employee checked their on hand stock for 5w40 (which said 3) but no where to be found.

The closest store to that location was the Weston & 401, which showed they have 14. Now 13 since I bought a jug :)

Is there still a Shell cash off voucher valid for this (mentioned earlier in the thread)?

I believe the 0w-40 is a true synthetic. Check to see if it was made in Europe, if so then yes.

Rotella is generally not a TRUE synthetic. Just a high quality dino oil

Is the 0-40 still JASO rated?

And yes, the 5-40 is a group III, not group IV oil. Most oils listed as synthetic in North America are not true full synthetics.

Not sure about the JASO-MA. To me once it's not energy conserving, I'm good.

Just to make sure, this stuff doesn't come in 20W50, correct? The Shell website seems to show it only comes in 5W40?

There were no more 0w-40's, but at least 20+ 5w-40's at dufferin/finch Canadian Tire (Auto) store as of yesterday evening.

I've recalled reading somewhere that only a true synthetic can be 0w-X. Dino oil cannot provide that fluidity at cold temperature.

Another point to note is diesel oil have a stronger detergent pkg than motor oils, so if sludge is your concern diesel oil is your best bet

Bought what was left at the local Canadian Tire. Going to be trying T6 in all the vehicles.
