They might garner more attention if they added other colors...their color scheme reminds me of Captain America.

Agreed, wow that one is really nice.
That's an exciting bike.. no way will Honda sell that. It seems that all the Japanese manufacturers seem afraid of exciting or distinctive bikes, until someone else sells a ton of them.

Cannot do, the colors on the CB1100R prototype and the CB1300S Super Bol D'or are small variations of Honda's traditional 80's colors.... HRC all the way... can't touch that...
I always thought there is a marketing reason behind it, like that Honda trying to appeal to the USA market by selecting such colors / patterns.

Of course that's what they are doing however you are not selling this type of machine to 14 year old boys.

No, they are selling it to boys like me, who was 14 years old back in 1980.
And if I'm going to buy that retro bike, it better have the retro paint too, 'cause that's the way I remember it.
Younger people, if they are Honda cusotmers, are just going to buy something mainstream, like a ... Honda CBR600...... meh... that one can be any color you want...

This is what I was expecting from thread title. I like it a lot. Wouldn't mind pretending my way down the hiway on that. Would I feel a bit foolish? Sure I would, but I've a dark shield.
