Suzuki Motor Corporation has instituted a safety recall campaign to replace the front brakes
master cylinder. The brake
piston inside the front brake master cylinder of some motorcycles may not have received adequate surface treatment to prevent corrosion. Corrosion of the brake piston generates gas, which may not be adequately purged from the master cylinder due to the side position location of the reservoir return port. To ensure customer safety and satisfaction, dealers will replace the front brake master cylinder and brake fluid.
Technical Service Bulletin:
Servicing information regarding this safety recall will be available in a Technical Service Bulletin the week of
October 28, 2013.

Parts
Availability:
Dealers will be able to order the necessary parts to perform this recall campaign beginning approximately the week of
November 4, 2013. Adequate supplies of parts will be available at that time to ensure your ability to service all your affected units. Your dealership may immediately resume retail sales once the recall campaign is completed.

Thanks, I will have to get it done on my 2010 750

Woah ... that's a lot of master cylinders

No crap any wrench knows they are crap. Been throwing them in dumpsters for years. Dont know how many kits Suzuki sold me maybe I should submit my receipts. Assclowns knew about this years ago and kept selling them and kits. Shame. :banghead:

ugh this mean going back to dreaded Suzuki of Newmarket?

I have an upgraded brake system on my bike & the brake feels like crap. I wanted to replace with a brembo master. Feels like if there is air in the system

Sent from my tablet using my paws

Do we have to use the dealerships for this? I ask because they are notorious for taking too effing long to do stuff.

as of right now there's nothing on any Suzuki website, so I'd wait until (if) it gets announced before you made any plans...

I hope this is a joke because what a pain in the *** it's going to be if every single person with a gixxer had to bring their bike in for this recall...

I wonder if they're gonna replace crap with crap?
If so, I might as well just get a used Brembo & do it just once.

I was already upgrading to r1 master and r6 calipers.

That's why I have OEM R1/R6 Radial Brembo MC's on both of my GSXRs

Would it fit without modification?
What bike do you have?

It fits but the main problem I had on the track bike 2003 GSXR600 was the clearance of fairing stay and the front lever. If you turned the handlebars all the way to the left, the lever would touch the fairing stay and activate the front brake so I had to grind a few mms of the lever with a dremel to avoid the contact; I might change the OEM fairing stay to race one for better clearance. As for the 2003 GSXR1000 it's all good, plenty of space...
