Motogp 2013

Another thing that may have made Hayden reconsider is Stoner's recent test on the bike where he was only a half second off the RC213V.

...for now. Honda is unlikely to develop the prod bike, while they keep developing their prototype. The gap will get larger as the season goes. You can already see the gap between the factory and satellite teams growing. It will only get amplified for the prod teams.

if Hayden makes a jump to Honda he at least has a remote chance of being competitive. If Rossi coming in at his peak couldn't make a ducati go, until they fix the bike nobody will. Stoner was the last guy to make a ducati fly, Yami and Honda upped the game and the Italians surrendered.

Yes I am aware that there are two series in one.
Edwards was on the Tech 3 and he usually finished out of top 10 vs. Carl Crutchlow has held his own with the Tech 3 bike.

I am just suggesting that MotoGp needs to expand their view and tour the world and give some others a shot (when their factory rider is injured). MotoGp is supposed to present the best in racing. When you are getting lapped then you are not reflective of that.
What is the point of letting their test rider take the grid. If he was good enough then he would have a permanent spot.
Go to the other series in the world AMA and such and give them a shot. It would send a message that they are more inclusive.
There certainly are a lot of riders from Spain right now.

I have the same concerns for WSBK hence I don't really watch it anymore.
Johnny Rae would be fun to watch in MotoGp.

What's with the Ducati's?
Pure shame

You say you are aware that there are two series in one, but then you keep talking about riders being lapped. Exactly which prototype rider is being lapped? All I see are some CRT bikes being lapped on a regular basis. Which you already said that you are aware that they are a different series.

The only name you mention is Colin Edwards, but he's on a CRT and he's second in the CRT standings... So prototype vs prototype, who exactly is getting lapped?

You clearly don't understand what is involved in putting a rider on a MotoGP bike

A CRT Bike against a prototype is about 5 seconds off the pace per lap, give or take depending on the bike, rider etc. the normally do 24 laps depending on the circuit with an average of 1:30 per lap.

So do the math, no matter what rider you put on the slowest bike, they are getting lapped

Yamaha let their test rider race last year and he scored a second place.

I don't understand the penalty to Honda. Either the bike is legal or it's not. If the race directors think it's unsafe because of insufficient redundant systems then the rules should require redundant systems.
Also don't agree with MM penalty. Would have preferred to see a warning. I think the threat of potentially larger points penalties would have a greater impact on his margin of safety than losing a single point, with no greater risk in the future.

Honda penalty was to improve the system (was a bad design obviosluy)

MM didn't lose ANY championship points, he has a penalty point applied to his racing license.

Ah that is a big deal, thanks.
Still don't agree w/ Honda penalty. It's not the governing body's role to judge good and bad engineering, just what's in compliance with the rules and what isn't.

I wanted to see 2 penalty points, not just one, They took constructor points away because it just giving him 1 penalty point would have looked like they went to easy.

I think the whole thing is a gong show. Let them race.

Partially agree, but you have to admit that as a fan of MM (which I am) I cringed at every corner when he was behing Pedroas or Lorenzo, it was almost hard to watch without stressing IMO.

I love the response from Pedrosa:

"The Jerez action was a great show, and Silverstone, and Laguna when he passed Valentino outside of the track was a great show, so I think they should encourage that type of action to make an example to the young riders…I think they are wrong (about the one penalty point). They have too many penalties. They should have given him one more point in the championship!"

Pedrosa is such a crying baby - Pedrosa got lucky, he was on his way out when Stoner announced he was retiring, he is just mad because once again, he will be #2 on the team next year like always.

I thought that Lorenzo also had matured a bit since he made a few decent comments about MM, but watching an interview with him last night about the incident between the two of them, I lost all respect for him... again
