Buying a dropped bike...

I pmed you the link.

I sat on both CBR600rr and Gixxer this Saturday in a dealership. For some reason I felt more comfortable on cbr even though I am on shorter side. Thought gixxer would be better because the seat is lower than CBR. Oh well.

Also decided to go with a cbr250r or ninja 300 without telling friends lol. They will probably make fun of me for starting small. Now just looking for a good deal small bikes.

I think a small bike will teach me all the riding basics, help me to get my M and just have some fun before upgrading.

I wouldn't recommend dealing with the seller. He thinks his bike is a 2010 when in reality is a 2009 as per UVIP.

Also, he has abused this bike for two years. He lied saying the bike was stored with full tank and stabilizer. Guess what? The tank was completely empty. He doesn't even know there is a bolt that holds the seat.


Complete waste of time... He does not reply to any message properly. He did not allow a test ride and I had cash in my pocket... I dropped the deal right there.

He accepted an offer of $3500 but would not allow anyone to take it for a test ride, even with the cash handed over to him! The engine ran pretty rough at idle (and smelled like it was running super rich) but I assume that's due to fuel that's two years old with no stabilizer. Be nice to see how she runs with some fresh fuel in her :(

The chain is completely rotted/rusted out, bike can barely roll. If planning to take it for a ride bring lots of WD40 (has no spools and seller has no rear swingarm stand) and make it a short one (also bring some fuel cause it's only got fumes left in it currently).

I had a look inside the tank and didn't see any rust.

Runner2k has the UVIP if you decide to purchase it, save ya the $20. He lives down the street from the seller.

Let me know if you take it home.

I'll msg runner2k about possible assistance tomorrow, not by pc atm and phones are a pain, but if I can get him down a bit from asking, that would be a steal for me :))

He is the original owner, bought it brand new from Snow City, paid cash, no liens. Not sure of marital status.

And before anyone complains about me posting his info, his ****ing address is in the Kijiji ad and 37 criminals have already showed up to steal the bike, but walked away in disgust.

I don't see any reason why he won't take $3500 for it, same deal he gave me. If it's got a solid engine, tranny and forks it's a freakin steal of a deal. Good luck. If you want a brand new absolutely mint full set of burnt orange bodywork for it (and brand spankin new tank), I can get the bundle for $1000 (the seller of the bike above's tank is ok, a few bad paint chips in it, but the bodywork can only be bought with the tank included).

I forgot to mention that he spray painted the black lower bodypanels "orange" (doesn't match candy burnt orange colour of rest of the bike), and the right side one is damaged, so if you wanted to replace only the right side bodywork ($900 from snow city, includes entire new tail bodywork) you'd also have to replace the undamaged left lower body panel (unless you're OK with the lower left half being "orange" and the lower right half being black, lol).

The rear tire is almost down to the cords in the middle, very squared off and won't pass a safety for sure. It sat in the same spot, outdoors, on concrete, didn't move an inch for 2 years, so not sure I'd use those tires even if they had sufficient tread (i.e. the front tire).

Darkav, let me know if you need any help. Like I said, I wouldn't recommend. I didn't find kijiji ad.
 
Doesn't matter what the seller chooses to display in Kijiji.... you're not him. Don't distribute his information without his consent. He can choose where to post his information, you can't.

Anyone can write down/take a photo of any vin# and walk into the MTO and print out a uvip and get the guys full name. If he's got a lien on it you get his full address too.
