Contour bankruptcy sale, Roam2 for under $120 shipped!

Got my shipping confirmation today. Expected delivery tomorrow.

Contour Roam2 is a good camera for the money. At $120 it's a steal. It's sleek and not as bulky as the Hero. Picture quality is good but audio sucks. As stated, GoPro has better mounts.

i already ordered a go-pro mount adapter.. not that i have any go pro mounts im going to use but just incase.
ive ben eyeing the contour for a while hoping canadian tire would have it on sale but it didnt happen, i wanted it because of its shape over the go pro and seemed to have good reviews.
one thing that sucks about the shape though is the go pro has a great chest rig.. the contour does not... but the contour also makes a picatinny rail mount...awesome.

Sweet, supposed to be arriving today! If it works as well as I hope it does I might pick up a second unit for the rear of the bike/car.

Got my Roam 2 today, that was fast!

The camera feels very solid and I like the operation -- set how you want to record from the computer and it stays set -- just rock the switch forward and you are recording... no messing about.

What I don't like about it is that you seem to need their software (storyteller) to change settings, and said software requires quicktime (which I have no need for or use of). Also, is there any software that can control this camera from linux?

Bought 2 arrived today. the roam2 has the screw hole on the bottom like most cameras. My original Contour HD needed specific mounts.

Purchased 2 of these http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281137595481&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:CA:3160 at less than $12 delivered for both. Seadoo and car.

i downloaded all the software off their site, also saved the camera firmware for the roam 2 and the +2 (i bought the +2)... with them going belly up it may be taken down soon.

let me know how secure the mount is on that once you get it, and if you would trust it on your bike. im leaning towards buying the ram mount suction cup mount.

they make a threaded adapter for your older contour, it just slips on and gives it a threaded mount point.

I have the original suction mount. It's only $34.99 off the Contour site. Same base just a different tip on this one. 9cm suction plus the press down.

i as looking at that, but the ram mount you can change the arm and buy links for it... you can also buy a cup holder adapter lol
they also have a bracket so you can add a 2nd or 3rd suction cup, if i ever want to mount it on the side of my bike ill probably run 2 suction cups.

I have the sticky mount with the round velcro from the origonal contour on my helmet. The only time it has come off is when I walk to close to something with the helmet on. Yes I'm a winner !! I even have video to prove it.

What's the best way to mount the original Contour HD to the tank (mostly just for my track bike)? I don't have any gopro mounts btw.

It depends on the bike but this adapter from Contour plus the mount from ebay is a common way people mount them or any camera. I also have the water proof case. Almost zero wind noise. Water proofs it and a little extra crash protection plus it has the screw hole in it.
