Boogie or Shanonville?

So I did Mosport on Thurs with Riders Choice, had an amazing time! Loved the track and the way they ran the day, I signed up for intermediate and moved to red after my 2nd session. Really liked that they automatically just moved me up as my pace picked up.

So besides that I have done TMP about 3 years ago, and did Grand bend yesterday with GTAM, had fun too but also had some miss haps. Not really my cup of tea in terms of the track, I much prefer the higher corner speeds and elevation changes of Mosport... And it was almost a 3 hour drive because of lane closures due to construction on the highway also

Now I am planning to do another day or 2 before the season ends, and I am trying to decide between Shanonville or Boogie for my next day...So what do you guys suggest? Having done TMP, GB, and Mosport, what would you rather do next Shanonville or Boogie...Obviously Boogie will cost much more, but in that sense Mosport was almost double the cost of TMP and GB but well worth it IMO...And GB wasnt that cheap either if you count the other costs, as I simple hotel room cost me $200 for one night!

I really wish Mosport had more days left! I would sign up for everyone if I could now

Lol...
Calabogie is the obvious choice between the two, based on the videos I've seen from that tack.
I'll for sure be doing Shannonville on the 8th, not sure about Calabogie yet.
Need more seat time before I hit the big boy tracks again.

Bogie is worth the price and the drive to get there.

Thats what Im hearing but do you like shanonville yourself? and whats your preference order for tracks you have ridden in ontario?

its cheaper and I see it can be setup different ways, Riders website says long track for the 8th. Someone told me its rough pavement too

Calabogie really is an awesome track, a lot of riders prefer it over Mosport and fully understand why. For me Bogie and Mosport are both #1,

Take note Bogie will spoil you into never wanting to run a Shannonville or Cayuga track day again.

Calabogie makes Shannonville look silly. Absolutely flawless pavment, that right hand uphill corner just sucks you into the seat, almost every corner is a blind corner (after a crest), you gotta be full lean before you even see the corner! And temptation corner messes with your head until you just give up getting it right, and when you get the pace and line so 17, 18, 19 flow into one corner, it's like magic. You want highspeed corners? Calabogie is your place.

Shannonville is flat, and pavement is in the same condition as TMP, lol :(

Which configuration at Shannonville? Don't waste your time on Nelson. Fabi is meh. Pro track is fun and long track is fun and challenging. Basically it's a wash.
Maybe if you're ending the season make it 'bogie so you'll have some nice fantasies over the winter. Shanny long can be frustrating if you trying to figure it out.

Website says long on that day

In that case. It's a wash. Both flow nicely I find, both need to be tried and both will have you going back for more.
Of course 'bogie is smoother an wider and has elevation changes but once you become familiar with it I find you don't notice those things any more. I prefer 'bogie because I have more to learn there. Maybe the difference should be if you know anyone with experience who's going to either track day?

I don't want to be bored of either track as I still have a blast at tmp. Im sure shanny will be very fun for me too. Also it's cheaper.

And I feel I'm not ready.

Op I say try shanny first then end with bogie

^This!

Shannoville (long) has a good layout, better than TMP in my opinion, but a short straight and awful bumpy rattling asphalt. I wouldn't bother with the 2+ hours it takes me to get there. I would rather put in 2 more hours and experience what many call the best track in Canada!

The grip levels at Bogie are like that of European professional tracks. Though there is no 300kph straight, you can push 270 on one of the straights. Take turn 4 at roughly 180kph and learn how to take turn 5 just right and you could be up to 270kph on a "straight" that is roughly as long as TMP's

The track is very very fast and flowing with at least 3 corners at 165kph to 180kph with knees down.

TMP has my TC light lit up out of almost every turn, where as my TC light never blipped once at Bogie....which means I had quite a lot of room to improve despite setting red group times on my first day there.

A few riders have told me that a 1:20 at TMP is equivalent to 2:20 at Bogie. I recall you saying you run a 1:17 at TMP and from having seen how fast you learn a track I can see you hitting 2:20 to 2:25 in your first outing. With those times, Bogie's surface is like rails!

I know you like to slide...but just imagine the drive you're gonna get at Bogie!!!!

Shannonville is also flat and boring. Bogie is undulating with blind crests and decreasing radius turns. It truly is a mix of all the best elements of every other track. All it is missing is an 800m (proper) straight.

The facilities are top notch, clean, new, superb.

Down side: You will likely need to camp. Price. New riders forced to pay $30 extra and parade behind a guide for 2 sessions. poor run off. No food...BRING YOUR OWN FOOD!!!!

I have videos of my sessions at both. Take a peak:

PS I met you once a couple years back at both our first times at TMP. I was running my then black 2009 ZX10R. I showed up riding in with a back pack and you let me use your cooler and tire gauges. Glad to see you recovered from the Jamaica accident and back on the track. You have a natural talent!

Sounds about right. I do 1:24 at TMP and did 2:27 my first time at Bogie :)
