RE: GoPro and Video Editing Software for Windows7

hey guys,
Anyone recommend a decent Video Editing Software (Free or Shareware, nothing expensive) that can work with the GoPro video files.
The software from the GoPro site doesn't even get the files down to a reasonable size to post, unless i am doing some wrong.
also i have seen some other cool vids where people have put several Clips together and added backgound music etc, would like to be able to do that.

anyway if you have any sugestions i appreciate it.

I use Microsoft Movie Maker (free to download from MS). Easy to use, and you can do all kinds of stuff to it.

I found the PS3 Video Editor to be pretty good...way better than Movie Maker. You can upload straight to Youtube and Facebook.

I think you need a PhD to use Premier. Tried it for a few months at an old job and couldn't figure it out even with help.

There's a few sweet youtube vids, show you how to edit video easy. In 1hr you'll be trimming videos, picture in picture, flawless audio, titles, clip transitions, etc. CS6 is way easier than previous versions. Adobe Audition has some sweet tools to clean up GoPro audio too :)

Has gotten a bit more expensive lately but seems on sale right now at under $70. But is also can handle the 4K video format GoPro has recently added to its cameras. Worth a look :)

CS6 does 4k too, I put some on youtube with it. 4k is nice because the bitrate is so much higher, looks way better on youtube, even on a 1080p monitor :)

Handbrake for re-encoding to a smaller size while keeping quality high (x264 codec in MKV container).
Tons of freeware out there for editing but I can't tell you much about them as I use Adobe Premiere.
