First time using DOT track tire recommendation?

I have run all kinds of DOTs and slicks, front and rear, backwards. I can't tell the difference. Never with advice from the tire distributor of course..... Now running a treaded tire backwards in the rain could get ugly quick.

I've been buying R10 scrubs from the SOAR/CSBK guys. I've used them only in the direction they are suppose to go :)

Need any more?? Lol

2 sets left.

Has Mitch card made the full move to Pirelli or for SOAR he still running the R10? I was buying them from him.

I think he has to run Pirelli for CSBK?

Pirelli is the spec tire for CSBK, no option to use another brand.

Probably a brain fart, it was Tony from BSR who is stocking the tires for his racing customers, so I know people are using what he would be selling me. Most likely some on this site buy from him as well

Dragons don't exist anymore as far as I know, so that was probably just a brain fart. The Diablo Supercorsa is the spec tire for AM/Pro Sportbike in the Nationals (and World Super Sport for that matter).

Edit: So I just checked the Orion Motorsports website and they do still list a Dragon Supercorsa Pro. For what it's worth I do not know a single person using that tire on the track. If you want to consult other rider's on tire performance it's best to use a tire that some other people are actually using.

I was back at Riders Choice for something and I asked Matt about tires, he pulled out the Dragon's in 180/120. I asked if that tire was discontinued and about the 180 vs 190. He said it is not discontinued they still get them, its just not the newest model anymore and therefore about $100 difference in price between it and the Diablo. He said he would run the Dragons at track days just for price standpoint, and said he is only slightly slower in his times between the 2 tires. He said he would stick with a 180 for me, he said since my bike has a stock motor with stock gearing. He said the reason the 180 is hard to get is there is a shortage, but they have some. Tony mentioned something about Bridgestone and Dunlop only supplying 190's for 600, so they have pretty much everyone converted to 190. That was his reasoning for not having any in stock

I have a few more things I have to pay for before the track day, but I will be buying either the Diablo or Dragon, depends on how much cash I have in my pocket by then.....I am having my Spyke suit repaired right now, but am so tempted to buy a new Dainese suit...

I tear my Diablo's apart in 2 days. As per Matt's suggestion I started running the Dragon's for my track days. Sure, giving up a little bit, but I just took my Dragons off to install the Diablo for racing....8 days on the Dragons. They still look good. I won't reinstall the same ones again for the next track day as I will just buy a fresh set but you can bet that Dragons will be going back on my extra rims for track days. Anyone want to buy a used pair for a couple bucks? :)

Yes, that's an endorsement for the Dragons for track days.

Thanks I ended up buying the Diablos with a 180/60 rear, Dragon was much cheaper and they did push me towards them, but I said **** it and ended up working a pretty good deal on the tires a Dainese suit, gloves, and back protector.
