Motogp 2013

I disagree, Hayden doesn't seem to have the killer instinct that Crutchlow, and other current top-level racers have. He tends to err on the side of caution instead of aggression, definitely not a win-it-or-bin-it kinda guy. He's also not as versatile on different tracks or bikes - when the switch was made to 800cc, he wasn't able to adapt to the smooth, high corner-speed style that the new engines required. He also favours certain tracks (left-turn specialist) like Assen, Indy, Laguna.

I've always been a Nicky fan, but I don't think he's alien-level talent. To be a true top tier GP racer, you have to be versatile enough on various machinery, tracks and weather conditions. Even Rossi couldn't make the Ducati work, which really revealed Stoner's versatility.

Hayden's got a world title, how does he not have a killer instinct? He's qualified that Ducati very well on several occasions. I think he trys very hard and just doesnt get the respect he deserves. Pedrosa has been on the best bike for around 8 seasons now and hasn't won the title. Crutchlow is fast without a doubt but that guys got more excuses then anyone, i couldnt believe he said this after qualifying “This is clearly a Honda track, we know that. You never usually see (Stefan) Bradl and (Alvaro) Bautista being able to challenge and Marc (Marquez) is incredible, with the speed he is going at on a new circuit.” He talks a big talk but i bet if Dovi had have stayed in Tech3 he still would have been handing it to crutchlow every weekend.

All I have to say is that I'm not surprised who won... Kudos to him.

Big weight off the shoulders of second place rider.

Both Pedrosa and Lorenzo were smart to race this weekend, championship is still close.

Summer break now and next stop Indy, counting down the days until I get to see the action in person and hopefully learn the future of some riders.

I leave you with this entertainment (if you haven't seen it yet) :)

Rossi's the only rider on the grid to have ridden 500cc 2 strokes, so it's not as impressive as it sounds...

Winning 500 two strokes isnt impressive???
Regardless, there were comments about versatile riders....that seems to fit the bill.

I am sure that Stoner's reaction to Rossi was very different than the reaction from Rossi to Marquez seen on this pic - Stoner is such a crying little baby

In both passes, I think that cutting the corner should have resulted in a giving up of the spot, regardless of how impressive (and dangerous) the maneuver is. I know it's not the romantic side of the argument, but am I wrong?

It is actually a good point, I just think that if you are pushed off the track by the other competitor like Marquez was he should not be penalized for it. Good question

Totally agreed with this statement ..
Rossi commented "it's racing" when he did it to Stoner .. He took it like a good sport when it was done back to him ..

I think Rossi must feel flattered that Marquez thinks highly of him.. That's two moves Marquez has already used from the Rossi play book.
Last turn in Jerez against Lorenzo
Now the corkscrew against Rossi.

I predict Marquez will in Philip island !!

Hmmm, that's quite a bold prediction, you must have a crystal ball or something ... LOL

So many people doubted the kid before the season started, now everybody is trying to catch a spot on the band wagon. I bet you were one of those who thought that 46 has a shot at the title, eh?

I'd like to see a wild card given to Stoner for PI ... then I would predict the order as Stoner, Marquez, Crutchlow ... the rest doesn't matter.

I was on the bandwagon from the start. He's not a shoe in but he's got a legitimate shot at the title. I also predicted that Rossi would win at least one race and a maximum of three...

Never doubted the kid.. Actually, he's been my first pick to win this year

46? Guilty!! I still think he can be a contender.. Seasons only half done.
Win or lose, at least he's been battling it out in the last few races plus the first.
I watch GP for entertainment factor..

Most fun to watch: (as of late)
Marquez..Rossi .. Crutchlow..

Crutchlow to Ducati for 2014 and 2015.

If Ducati doesn't redesign the bike properly in the off-season with Audi's budget, it'll be the end of Cal's GP career. At least he'll get factory salary for 2 years and I hope he would be smart to stash it away.

If Ducati finds the source of their problem and fix it for 2014, it's going to be epic for Cal if he can regularly be amongst the aliens with the red machine. That would be good news for Dovi as well. His talent is not being spotlighted properly on the Duc.

Guess it's not all paradise when you're home all the time or playing with V8's....

interesting indeed.

Funny part is he's not even in the premier league. He's running the Dunlop series which is their development cars. Only 6 races throughout the season, and they're all short.

He's recently complained on twitter, now removed, about his dislike in the series.
A few retired GP riders have recently shared their opinions that it is very likely Stoner attempts a comeback to GP. He's still young and the talent will surely still be there. I think Pedrosa's spot will become vacant soon if he doesn't win more, although last year he was very strong in the second half of the season.
There's also Suzuki in 2015.
