I think what basically happened is the R1 Rider had no insurance/friends' (possibly stolen) bike....he realized that he was ****ed. So the next logical thing to do was flee..what a ****** bag!!

Don't know, I would hope that when I'm pointing to the guy riding my bike away they would pursue? I guess proper paper work must be done first?.........
 
I've only ever seen one person successfully rip a license plate off a vehicle, and that was Chevy Chase.

If they were even a few minutes behind him there's next to no chance of finding it in any reasonable time frame.
 
wow this story is epic. straight out of a movie/videogame. best of luck on getting your bike back! good on you for stopping to help a fellow rider, who would have known he was a total a-hat.
did you get witness statements from people at the scene about what happened to you and the original accident?

Some dude's probably hurting with road rash by now.. probably infected too.. unless he went to a hospital..

Any news from the cops?? Wow, recent events in the GTA are really like the movies/TV (TO City Hall, Ancaster Test Drive Killing etc)

There was for sure one witness on the scene that saw him ride off with my bike and the cop also saw it as well..why he didn't pursue? i don't know..i guess he needed to attend to the accident victims of the two vehicles that were involved.
 
I won't be able to get in touch with the detective who's' working on the case until this Thursday. So hopefully he will have some good news about the investigation, i really hope they catch this guy because he needs a wake up call. Will let you know what he tells me about the culprit.
 
This is f'n nuts. Can not believe that I missed this thread. I wonder if there was any paper work/documents in R1.
Looks like I won't be leaving keys in my bike at Timmies lot.
 
Lets not jump the gun. Maybe the guy was a international spy? This story is straight outta Hollywood
 
Crazy story straight up out of the movies. Even thou the thief is a loser. He's got some balls to pull off stuff like this.
