2013 Demo Days

I'm disappointed Yamaha decided not to demo the R1, really wanted to try it out. Gonna have to wait to try the zx-10r then. Plus anyone got work on Aprillias? Curious as to how that v4 rides.

Anyone going to Ducati demo tomorrow? own insurance required?

I'm going to the one in Oakville. I'm ****** because I missed out on the monster test ride. Today's the last day. Multistradas test rides start tomorrow

Actually the whole Yamaha demo (MC Tour), was not that great IMO. They were quite strict on the rules, I was revving the engine slightly(R6) during the ride and the leader looked back at me, kinda like giving me a warning, and at the beginning they did say if we do anything stupid, we will be send back. So you can't really test the bikes close to the limit, and it's quite boring riding normally within the speed limit. The limited choice of bikes also made this year's demo unattractive relatively to other makes of motorcycles demos. Nevertheless, I will be going to another Yamaha demo to try out the FZ6.

Just came back from Brampton demo, crazy amount of people! I suggest everyone NOT go for this one, because it's saturday and long weekend, a lot of people are going to ride bike after bike. If you haven't left home yet, don't bother!

Haha I was just there. I waited an hour and left. It was not properly organized. They were signing 5ppl at time wait for half hour then sign the next 5. I'm not going to Brampton powersports as it's the same setup they use for all demos.
All other demos I've been are way more organised getting people to test ride. They pass clip boards around 5-10 riders at a time to fill up information, sign up for your ride and hang around the store until it's your time to ride.

Anyway, I'm just going to other dealer demo days during weekday. Brampton PS is hopeless.

Where were you? What bike did you ride in? I was wearing red and black jacket black riding pants, came on a black Gsx650f.

I was there at 9:50, saw a bunch of people, and talked my friend who came at 9am, which later he did gets to ride the first round of demo.

If you were around that time, you might saw me, I was wearing a blue ralph Lauren polo, the only guy who walked to the sign up booth asking if they could book me a time for the afternoon. The answer they gave me was no, they were not allowed to do that.

I saw the sign up clipboard only has 10 people on it, and there were 20-30 people STANDING on the lot waiting to get signed up (no refreshments, chairs, tables, whatsoever, just a parking lot). The demo has around 10-13 bikes capacity each hour, which means you have to wait 3 hours to clear the people in front of you before your turn. Remember: I came at 9:50, the first ride starts at 10am!! It's a complete waste of time on potential buyers. So I decided to just leave.

Brampton Powersports is hosting a Yamaha and Suzuki demo in the coming weeks, these two manufacturers have MUCH LESS bikes for demo, so anyone who is smart knows what to do... DONT GO! They are brutal, and they want volumes at their dealership, thats why they make you stand for hours.

The people who have successfully rode the demo, I admire your patience and tolerance. But in fact MOST demos events you can book in advanced, meaning you just show up at the time slot you reserved. It is the dealership who decides whether they will be taking bookings.

Demo rides where scheduled for 10-5 for Honda in Brampton, I got there at 2 asking to book up as the lot was pretty empty of people and lots of bikes and a group was just about to go out. The girl said she can't because they are full and done for the day I was like WTF, she asked where I got my info I said from Honda's website and then mentioned how they were wrong. If its this bad, I don't plan on wasting my time and returning to the other events in Brampton.

I went to the morning Ducati demo at Ride at Hwy 7 and Islington, first thing in the morning at 9:30, most of their bikes were outside. Copy of my license on their waiver, signature and tell them how long your going to be 30mins? 2hrs? They just need to schedule accordingly to accommodate others. You break, you pay for repairs so don't wreck the ride and have lots of fun.

I was at the Honda demo today. Last to try to CB500F. Apparently there were some open spots by the end because of people who didn't want to wait. Hell, I walked half way there. Great day.

I did the Honda demo too. Rode the new 600RR and the 250 dirt bike. First ride I had to take what was left, but the second ride I was able to pick and choose. I did have to spend the better part of 4 hours there waiting.

So 2pm was the last ride?? Geez... many disappointed souls there for sure.

3PM was the last ride. Definitely wouldve been nice if they had just done the rides without being exactly on the hour everytime regardless of the group being ready at like 12:45 for example. they only had what 6 rides? with about 12 bikes i believe. many people left disappointed.

I wonder if this was the dealers decision or Honda's.

Most likely the dealers. They had "deals" on gear in their store so getting people to wait around is profitable.
Bored while waiting for the next ride? go spend some money in our store!

Sales guy told me it was Honda's decision.

Sales guy will also tell you they make $200 profit on a Cbr250. People with a little common sense or wisdom wouldn't fall for that.

I can tell you this is 100% dealer's decision, I've been two other Honda demos this month where the dealership took reservations.

Ah man, I thought 4pm was the last ride so when I showed up they stopped signing ppl up. I wanted to try the CB500F! I'm thinking of downgrading from my F4i.
