I know, I'm so ashamed of myself. Weighing the virtues of one entry-level 250 vs. another is fresh material that's never been discussed on GTAM before, and here we are interrupting that stimulating flow of information with boring tedium.
Honestly, though, philosophical debate is like picking at scabs, you know you can only make it worse, but it's so hard to resist...

I think our disconnect is that I am talking about the pure theory of particular systems of thought, and to that extent I stand by what I have said (theism, atheism and agnosticism are all mutually exclusive).

That said, though, one of the amazing features of the human conciousness is that it can sumultaniously hold mutually conflicting concepts as true. So with that in mind, your argument is quite sensible. Just because atheism and agnosticism are conflicting systems, does not mean that someone cannot believe in both. I think that maybe that is the point you are making. I once knew a lady (honey/dame/chicky) who was Catholic, but saw no problem with pre-marital sex using birth control - I understand she was not the only one. I even talked to someone who self-identified as a Catholic Budhist - she just confused me, though - maybe that's akin to being a woman trapped in a man's body.

I agree the dicussion of the Smantecs vs their comman usage is were we are getting hung up. Afterall definitions of words change with time and getting into a symantic argument is kinda useless. Its the logic of the underlying positions thats important.

Not to mention there is a whole epistemological nature of the Belife VS knowlege that underlies the orogin of the words is a completely another subject

The final thing I will say is that its possible to reject an Idea but be open still be open minded enough about it to change posistions. Thats what i find most weak atheists/agnostics are. Thats my posisiton on the topic as its just No a defensiblle posistion otherwise at least with the current body of human knowledge.

Wrong. Atheists believe in logic, rationalism and the scientific method. The difference between atheists and theists is that we choose to expand our understanding of the unknown through science and logic, whereas theists simply cop out and insert an imaginary friend of their choosing rather than think critically. Many of us will go the extra mile to ridicule the spurious arguments that theists rely on, things like "something can't come from nothing" (wrong, something can come from nothing or, more to the point... nothing does not exist), or "intelligent design is evidence of god's will" (another phrase stolen from science and perverted to suit theistic nonsense).

"Faith" is nothing more than throwing up one's hands and turning in their critical thinking cap.

There's no need to rey on magic and superstition to explain the universe, with everything science has already taught us about it's structure... it's pretty awe inspiring on it's own.

Further...most atheists don't actually say there is 100% proof of no god...they say that there is the same amount of proof for god as there is for the flying sphagetti monster or the flying teapot that orbits the earth. There's a massive distinction between theists that say god exists because they have faith, and the atheist that says the chances of god existing are the same as a spaghetti haired multi-eyed cloud monster, fairies and unicorns...ie so slim as to be negligible in the absence of any evidence for.

Lots of things we collectively don't know....when you show the evidence for what you think exists....all will listen ....until then it sits in the unicorn file along with other silliness like the tooth fairy and leprechauns and getting hot chicks by way of owing a motorcycle.

This is part of the problem, promoting rationalism over irrationalism is nothing to apologize for. For some reason theists are conditioned to expect a "buy" in being criticized publicly. Once it's put on the table it's fair game.

The last one is not a myth. It's not our fault if they don't dig the Burgman, I've used the Daytona as a conversation starter/first date option many times already
 
Yeah but arguing about religion is about as stupid as trying to convince me that the sky isn't blue or the earth is flat. The perspective is the same from both angles and the steadfast ignorance is reflected off both parties within their individual perspectives.

Oh God this is still going on?!?!?!? Go buy a ninja 250, say a few "our fathers" and some "hail Mary's" just to be safe. Cruse for chicks, girls, ladies, wagons...find your self a hot red head and make her your queen and we are done. FYI....waved at a red head on a bike today....sweet! Oh ya, some shots of tequila will not hurt cause you will be married to the red head and your ball and chain gets short unless you set it straight right away..good luck with that!

Uh - you know that girls are going to laugh at you on a ninja 250 right (which goes against what you wanted in a bike in the first place)? Why don't you get a manly bike like a gixxer?

not sure what a gixxer is but i really wanted a ninja 600 it seems like i have to wait another 4 years or wait until i make more money
so the 250 will be okay for now at least i can ride
