Loving My New Honda CB500F

Nice. Ride safely.

My wife is on a CBR125R for the time being. The CB500F might be next.

Cause riding without them is cold ... LOL!!!

I like the extremely reflective stripes. They are 'relocated' from a friend of mine who works for EMS ... city funds well spent in my opinion :P .. don't tell Rob Ford ..

In the mean time, until you 'return' these to your friend, you could try some knee protectors under those tacks. They look pretty roomy. Knees are important. I'm unsure if those tacks will give you much abrasion protection, as they are simply a poly/cotton blend. Still, better than shorts!

that's a great looking bike!

.. you might of heard of it, North Bay I decided to go up and see what the Honda Dealership up there had to say. Not only did I not have to put a deposit down,

Anyways, that's my post.

Yeayyyyy North Bay!!!!! My home town! Cheers

ugh i'm so jealous. mine is taking forever

Yeah, I wasn't loving the fact that all the stores down here were really pushing the deposits .. I would have gone for it if the dealer could have provided me with a VIn at the time I put the deposit down .. but they couldn't so I told them no thanks ... So it turns out the dealerships that put large orders in are getting them last and the dealerships that ordered two or three of each are getting them first .. muahahahahah good for me I suppose.

Whats the difference between the f x and r? My buddy is looking to upgrade from his 250 to a 500. We are gonna hopefully test ride some this saturday, but just wondering if anyone has any insight.

The R - Full fairing bike, sporty type ride ....

same engine for the F

The F - Its “naked” styling, combined with a stress-free seating position with a flat-type handlebar and an easy reach to the ground ......

The X - Its and adventure bike, a bigger gas tank compared to the CBR500R and CB500F allows the fuel-efficient 470 cc parallel-twin engine to take you even farther between fill-ups, and the engine’s internal counterbalancer plus an upright seating position help to keep you comfortable even on long-distance adventures, compact fairing with adjustable windshield

Pfffst.....fuel injected...you elitist ;) carbs is the way to go man! says the guy in a ninja 500r :) haha joking aside, thats a beautiful cb500f and love the colour!

Hey, I think I saw you at Burrito Boys this past Tuesday and I parked right beside you. I ride your bike's big brother a CB1000r. Funny enough your bike was a large part of the conversation I was having with a group of riders. I really like the new Honda line up those 500's are going to sell very well and hopefully help keep the CB1000r in North America as it has not hit anywhere close to it's needed sales #'s even though it is one of the best built Honda's IMO... Next time I see you I'll be sure to introduce myself.

:)

What the Deuce!!!! You were talking about my bike and I wasn't there to hear it?!?!? Yeah I was at Burrito Boyz, it was pretty much my second meet up .. I did one Monday night one but the turn out was only about 6 guys ... not that those weren't the best 6 guys ever ... (Just in case they are reading this) ... :P

I believe they are going to be doing really well on this line up. A couple of reasons I say this, the bikes are next to impossible to get your hands one right now and not just because they are new. Everyone with a 250 that wants to move up but was intimidated by the 600 lines is very attracted to this bike making it the bike to try and get right now. I happened to luck out and get this one from North Bay because they placed their orders a while in advance.

The insurance on this bike is cheap!

Honda was smart and played into almost everyone's likes by making this '500' available in three different styles .. racing, relaxed / standard, and your classy adventure type .. good thinking Honda!

Come up and say hi next time :) I'm pretty friendly and looking to meet new peep's ..

I agree - very impressive line up - far more so than the 700 series which I think are wrong headed with the possible exception of the DCT version.

What is really a shame is that Honda is not bringing the CB400 to Canada.

The Honda CB400 Super Four was released in 1992 as a Japanese market only bike. It was later introduced to the Australian market in 2008 as either a standard or ABS equipped model. The decision by Honda to supply the CB400 in Australia was due to the change in registration laws for learner riders where Learner Approved Motorcycles (LAMs) are now based on power-to-weight ratios, rather than an engine capacity limit, generally 250 cc (15 cu in).[citation needed]

I am really angling for one in Aus as it would be fun for me but legal and the correct size for my step daughter to learn on.
The 500 line up is very good - especially the X in my view.
Adding the CB400 in would be sooooo sweet.

The variable cam timing is supposed to give you the best of both worlds: an engine that plugs away happily at low revs, then turns into a four-pot screamer on demand.

It's only a bit more HP than the CB500 but I suspect hellishly more fun to ride if you are willing to keep those revs up. Shades of the RD400 two stroke.
