So I have been riding around on my red CB500F since April 8th and my overall impression is nothing but good
First of all, this is my first 'motorcycle' but not my first two-wheeled friend. Last year I decided to take the plunge and purchase a motorcycle, however I decided that I would by a second hand scooter to see if I liked road conditions and situations enough to purchase something with more horsepower. I found a 50CC Derbi Atlantis Bullet
on kijiji for 700.00 bucks. She lasted me all summer and I still rode that beast (LOL) until the roads froze and it was just too dangerous.
This year I did a lot of research, went to every bike show within 300km's of Toronto and fell in love with the CB500F. The seat height is really comfortable for me, the power is obviously there and this is a bike that I will not tire of within 1-5 years like I have heard so often about the 250's. So the search began in January. To my displeasure, every dealership was trying to get me to put money down but couldnt give me a VIN and to me that just feels wrong. I really wanted to know they were taking my money and i was being guaranteed a bike. Being from a small town .. you might of heard of it, North Bay I decided to go up and see what the Honda Dealership up there had to say. Not only did I not have to put a deposit down, I found out that he had ordered one as soon as he knew about them and they should be coming in sometime in April. I got a call as soon as it was delivered and picked it up ... Financed through Honda and have been riding it ever since. I have to say that it is a very easy bike to handle (after the first fears of dropping, tipping or otherwise making yourself look foolish). The clutch is forgiving, the shifting is smooth and overall it's a light bike weighing in at 425lbs wet.
I also am the proud owner or a bike that everyone in Toronto wants to take a closer look at because they havent seen them on the road yet ......
Anyways, that's my post.
