hi
I have a friend that needs a bit of practice since he hasnt been riding for a while and a bit rusty any suggestions on nice beginner routes in toronto. No parking lots since he can ride already just needs practice and fear breaking route.
thanks all in advance :)

Lakeshore is nice and wide and is a smooth ride from the Humber Bridge all the way east to where Bayview Ave starts, which itself has a few gentle turns. Off Bayview is Rosedale Valley road, which has a few turns and nice scenery. If your friend becomes comfortable on the highway, then the DVP (when it's not busy) is a good highway to get used to gentle corners while moving at speed. It's also good to get some practice on the inner streets with traffic lights, pedestrians, cyclists, streetcar tracks (careful when wet) and so forth. It's all about how comfortable that person is or becomes and ensuring they he is not a danger to himself or others on the road.

When I first started riding, I would sometimes just ride along Lakeshore from the Beaches all the way out to Oakville and back again. It was good practice with lots of lights, not too many distractions and reasonable road quality.

yea i was thinking of bayview and rosedale valley or mount pleasent but maybe it would be better to take him on inner streets first get comfortable then head to those roads? even though riding around with cyclists and streetcar tracks is annoying. He is afraid about the tracks since he got stuck before and slid.

I take all my noob trainee's to Twyn Rivers (Scarborough).

+1... If you want to go east, Kingston Road is good route outside of rush hour.

+1 Kingston rd is pretty good if you don't want to deal with the DVP/401 bull I take it sometimes after work
