Ninja 1000 is a good choice if you want a bike that is a great all arounder. I did a 2k+ trip on it last summer through Algonquin Park Ottawa Montreal Quebec city and occasionally commute to work while taking it out for fun on weekends. If you are looking for used you might be able to find a 2011 for 10k or so.

Suzuki Bandit 1200/1250 !!!!!!!! Best value bar none... bulletproof engine... cheap insurance... the newer ones come with ABS... can always find a good one used!

And Boooya's is for sale! I can speak for that bike and it's insane with tasteful mods. If only Boooya could set the price without ending up in this thread.
