Condo/Apartment Locks

They're claiming it to be a pretty strong lock. But ideally if someone can get permission to drill holes in the ground this would be perfect. Might just be too much of a hassle for someone and not even bother?maybe....

I also look for this product and I talked with the Co.
there are some cases that the shipment is for free, you need to ask them and as I ask this Bunker is connected to the ground.

only real downside will be getting a hole drilled in a condo/apt cement pad. Hole is easy, permission to make hole.............

You need the appropriate persuasion and leverage. Some condos have bike racks installed behind cars, those racks require drilling holes... the same holes needed for an anchor.

Just use the right words when asking to drill a hole on the slab.

That's why I mentioned the one that I did. It looked like the front end of the one pictured above, lag bolted down from inside the cowl, and had a heavy steel rod that went through the front wheel and locked essentially flush with the side. I'm sure that a chop saw or angle grinder would get through it, but it would take a damned sight longer than the minute or two that pros are accustomed to taking.
If it's the same one I am thinking of they went out of business.

I think also that it's free shipping in CA and USA

Anytime a power tool needs to be used its a bit more conspicuous. Just loading a bike into a van easy story could be you bought the bike but dont have a license. Cutting into a lock is bound to catch a passerby's attention. But most people look the other way these days. Was on the side of the road last fall and many people refused to make eye contact and acknowledge someone trying to get their attention.

Cheap compared to the cost of repairing the electrical service you just drilled into when you went to mount it.

Well one upside... you personally won't be paying for that. That amount of power you don't walk away from. But they don't run a lot of electrical under a parking garage. Mostly just lighting and power to fans etc. Unless you hit the main feed going from the street to the building. And that is not always in the underground. AND your bolt has be to 8" long to even get through a typical slab (not factoring in any toppings they may use), and get past any rebar.

Can you park two vehicles in one spot (common area rules) and then will they let you drill into slab?

If so then worry about price and shipping.

I have the one in the video, works well with a 19mm chain. The key is to have it bolted in a wall, my condo allowed that, nothing can be bolted into the ground as it creates issues later on I.e. cracks. The concrete in the walls are insanely dense, the building had to bring in a contractor to do it as their drill burned out, may have a better chance selling it that way.
