GS500F having a difficult time starting

Does it have fairings? My friend is looking for fairings for hers.
The one with the E (naked)version?

You would need to weld up some fairing brackets onto the fram to be able to do an E to F conversion.

Yup, told her that. lol

You should see the gs that belongs to the guy who installed my engine. His has some other bike fairings on it and a gsxr front light and he custom painted it. Looks awesome.

I had a difficult time starting in the beginning, actually the 2nd day i bought it, sort of figured out it was low water in the battery, filled it up and it worked amazing, just a month back had similar issues with the startup and it was the same battery water issues, filled it with distilled water and so far no problems.

FYI so you guys dont make the same mistake as me. Our bikes are known to burn through oil. Check your oil every 1000 kms and top up when necessary. I killed my engine due to low oil. Wish I had known this before.

Thanks for the reminder, I immedietly checked my oil and it wasnt even showing up on the stick.

LOL Holy **** that's worse than mine last winter. Glad it was saved tho :D

I just took my battery inside with me after rides...then it was warm and there were no problems. Low tech but hey, it worked everytime

My new battery is still working great, so far no issues starting up in the cold.

I must say, my Ninja is a lot easier to start than my GS was...

Yep.. my new battery, coupled with my rejet and magical spark plugs, makes this thing start up and warm up a lot better than stock

I think I got you all beat.

When I first got the bike and ran down to the state (beating the piss out of the revs maxing it out in the interstate at night) at my destination I did an oil change. About 500mL drained out of the bike.

Ah fun times. Then the stupid filter o-ring in the box wasn't the right one. proceeded to dump oil all over the ground and I had to go buy more oil and a new filter with the correct o-ring.
