Which helmet: Shoei RF1100 or Shoei Qwest

I own 12 helmets right now. I have owned and worn north of 50 helmets.
The Qwest is the nicest helmet I have ever worn, for comfort and noise.
However it's heavier than I like.
For a street helmet it would be my lid of choice. Too heavy to race in.

I own a Quest... The helmet is absolutely amazing, silent, no drag, awesome quality and beautiful. The helmet performs equally tucked down on the track as well as touring straight up. It definitely does both.

from a dimension perspective, the rf-1100 if going to be designed more for a forward leaning riding style, the helmet will be made to accomodate having your neck bent back while huddled over a ss style bike, the qwest was designed as a touring helmet.

That being said... i tried on both, and neither was an uncomfortable helmet, but the qwest was like a pillow on my head. i thought it was more comfortable. it is definitely my next helmet.

Just to echo what many have already said here - based on all the reviews I've read/watched, the Qwest is meant to be a touring take on the RF-1100. Pick based on your riding style, and of course, fit.

I'm personally going to pick up a Qwest sometime soon, as soon as I've had a chance to try for fit vs the RF-1100.

Great find Yukoner - I'm going to order mine soon.

I went to GP today and tried both the RF-1100 and the Qwest on - definitely found the Qwest fit me better. The RF-1100 does seem to have a more oval/narrow fit, while the Qwest seemed rounder.

**** I just bought a Quest from kahuna paid alot more than [TABLE="class: cart"]

[TD="class: total"]They did throw in a chrome visor. In regards to the helmet, really comfortable, noise levels are tolerable but i wouldn't call it quiet unless you compare it to a P.O.S helmet.
The one thing I notice is that it doesn't whistle much.

I have a Qwest (matte) right now and was looking into getting a RF-1100 in a lighter color. Wondering if same size in a Qwest would be the same fit in a RF-1100. Anyone know?

When I tried Qwest and RF-1100 a couple of years ago, they fit very similarly, so I think the same size should fit properly.

I got a qwest on motorcyclegear's almost free sale. At fifirst I hated the thing, it was incredibly loud and gave me serious headaches. I emailed shoei with no response but the guys at MG helped me out, turns out the baseplates needed adjusting. Fits amazing, real quiet and fits my sena Bluetooth perfectly.

I have 2 Qwest helmets and find they provide me with all day comfort. The only issue I have with the Qwest is that the complete liner is not removable, only the cheek pads are. This makes washing the liner a huge pain. The RF1100 has a fully removable liner.

I was choosing between these 2 not too long ago. I ended up with the qwest and haven't had any second thoughts about it. It's very comfortable, and mostly quiet though it does get a bit loud at some points (not at a particular speed, more if the wind is hitting it at particular places). When trying them on I did feel that the rf-1000 fit slightly differently, but not by a huge amount. If one fits your head, the other should too.
