Brrrr....little chily out this morning!

I remember at the Exhibition last year I saw these little gel packs that are stiff and when you break or bend it, it heats up ? Anyone know what I'm referring to? At that moment I thought about how it would make a good solution for thermal wear inserts when you're riding... and then the thought passed as I got distracted by the next exhibit... lol.
Hi AngelEyez, they have these on E-Bay, well they do on the UK site so i'm sure there on the Canadian one. Heated grips are ok but they can get too hot and offer no heat on the back of the hand, the ones i use are the wired/plug in type they heat the whole glove up, you can get this system for feet and a heated waistcoat to go under the jacket.

When it begins to cool off I wear my Joe Rocket rain gloves. As it gets colder I change to an old pair of leather ski gloves, which are nice and warm and offer decent protection.

Still wearin shorts

Went to GP in Innisfil on Saturday to check out those JR gloves...personally I didn't like them and they looked like that had almost zero protection so I ended up not buying them :( Search continues! Today I just put the liners from my snowboarding gloves OVER my bike gloves and outside of not having super grip on the controls (which were fine to operate with 2 gloves on) I have no complaints.

Sure was cold with my Joe Rocket Sonic gloves (summer, perforated glove) and a silk liner. Couldn't feel my thumbs by the time I got to work. Torso was also a little chilly with just my 2 pc suit and some Paradox baselayer. Should've used some kind of windbreaker since the suit has a few perfed spots.

Came down from the cottage this morning, slipped a newspaper section under my jacket to cover my torso.

Does the job, but switching to thermal layers next weekend.

I turned around and went back home... Even with rubber gloves under my velocity my hands were frozen before I hit the highway.

Yeah, she was a bit chilly this morning too but nothing layers can't help fix. I wore my regular gloves (velocity vpros) and it wasn't particularly bad... Brampton commute to downtown Toronto. Wore a bandana for the first time under my full face, actually helps a lot.

My riding jacket is a big thick heavy winter leather jacket. it is solid; has no vented areas. It sucked so bad for the summer, especially crawling on the 401... but when it started getting cold; had no problem.
I rode with the jacket from january when I got it. never once felt cold.

You should be able to buy windbreakers that you can put on under your jacket. My previous jacket was a joe rocket mesh with padded armor spots, but also had a windbreaker lining you could put inside of it. Took it down into the states in december and never once felt cold.

my legs on the other hand... 2 pairs of sweat pants under a pair of jeans and they still froze!

My wife bought me these Joe (just Joe not Joe Rocket) long under wear tights from Loblaws for when I coach hockey and I am in the arena standing for hours. i have never been cold wearing them and on my bike this morning I was toasty warm wearing them. They are thin so you can wear them under anything but did I mention they are warm?

Bah. After 10 minutes your whole body goes numb so you don't feel the cold pain anyways.

Only when you start warming up; then you just want to die.

Also: running shoes + high speed + cold air = cold feet. RIDING BOOTS + high speed + cold air = feet still nice and warm.

I'm still; wearing my mesh summer jacket right now. No super long commute for me though. I kind of like feeling refreshed after my ride into work, wakes me up too.

All I went to Royal in Whitby on Saturday. Didn't get the gloves. But I did get a no fog mask to stop the visor fogging up and a head over / neck warmer to compliment it.

I still have a thermal layer to go on the jacket and trousers. Once it's too cold for that then it's time to park the bike.

Still wearin shorts ...just different ones
