Attention dude/chick who parks his Black Gixxer 750 (?) 2008+ Downtown (Shoei helmet)

The Video is not stupid but your comment is. The reason he does not use the helmet lock provided is because all you need is a knife to cut the strap and away you go with the helmet. This way is much more secure. That's the reason for this video.
Also on some bikes like mine you can pry open the back seat cover to release the helmet from the lock.
Those are exactly the two reasons, lol.

locking through D-Rings wont prevent theft. They can and WILL cut off the straps at the d-ring. If you must lock to bike, just put lock cable through the visor opening and lock it up.

Meh, nothing will completely prevent theft but it's better than nothing and it's one less thing to remember to carry with me.

To each their own, personally I would never leave my helmet with my bike reguardless of how secure it was. The last thing I would do is put the inside of one of my helmets on a passenger peg that people put their dirty shoes on. If someone cuts the strap the helmet is useless, if they took the time to pry open the seat then why not just break the passenger peg bracket off and take both the helmet and the bracket. Or use 1 6mm Allen key to remove the only 2 bolts holding it on. Then you get a helmet and a passenger peg and bracket to sell

Not to mention that if someone is going to be that bold and put in that much effort. They will most likely mess with the hemelt even with the gun lock Wichita by my standards would ruin the helmet anyways

I still feel that putting the inside of you helmet on paggenger peg outside in public is stupid, but what do I know I only own 11 Arai helmets that I would never leave strapped to a bike either way...

No way brah, the more I spend the better the product, period, end of story.

Learned my lesson once about leaving a helmet on a mirror. Came out of a bar on the Queensway, can't remember the name anymore, it was by an Audi dealership. Put the helmet on the mirror to walk a girl to her car parked on the street. Came back 5 mins later and it was gone. 1 week old high-end Shoei. Pretty costly phone number.

I will never, ever leave my helmet on the bike. My riding buddies do it all the time, but there is no way I will do that, even for a minute or so to go into a coffee shop. I bought a top box for my bike just so I could put the helmet in it. That way it is out of sight and out of the weather as well.
