There Is Hope In Kijiji Motorcycle Buying After All

My co-worker bought a 1987 Honda Radian in mint condition for $380 dollars. I mean mint condition as if it was made 2 years ago, all he bought was the battery for it and is now riding it on the street, the thing literally makes thread marks on the pavement like an old style 1970's Ford Mustang. It only has 11,000 km's and the lady that sold it claims she bought it to join her husband riding habit but she didn't ride too long as she got busier with kids.

I also bought my baby in near-mint condition for $2,900 on Kijiji. I'm talking about a 750cc sport-tourer that you would think it's a 2011.

See, this proves that Kijiji is not all about morons selling their 8-year-old SS's for $1,000 less than what they paid for them new in 2003, they think that people give a crap about their sentimental baggage attached to them? Ahahaha!!!

For example this bozo here wants $18,000 for a 6-year-old Honda motorcycle:

Did you low ball him when he had it listed for $2900? I bet you did. Problem isn't sellers... it's buyers thinking they can low ball their way to ridiculously low prices.

Also, is it worth $2900 after you did maintenance on it?

It would be worth more if it had an airbag.
It's a Honda, not a Gazillion year old bike that you can't get parts for, or a rat bike.

ofcourse there is hope for kijiji....i bought every single bike cept one on there....my VTR, my gf's SV650 and my current supermoto. Its the wading through high-as-a-kite sellers or the sellers who dont return your messages (why did you post it then?!). I also bought my Civic, my Maxima, **** most of the things i buy i first check out kijiji to see if i can find a used model for cheaper.

Whoa, waitasec, you mean my Radian is a Honda?

Sent from spaaaaace!

Sorry lol, it is a Yamaha Radian, I could have sworn he told me Honda but phoned him to confirm, he claims he told.me Yamaha not Honda, hahaha.

I believe it. Last two bikes were bought on kijiji and outside the GTA (Kitchener/London). Maybe it's a Toronto thing......

I'm guilty of that but not on purpose. When I sold my old bike I placed an ad on Kijiji and placed my phone number on it and only got 2 phone calls in 1 week. I sold my bike to someone from the area who saw it parked with the sign on. 1 month later I went to check my e-mail for an unrelated matter and I had 58 e-mails from 58 people interested in my bike wow. But why the hell they e-mailed me? I placed my damn phone number on the ad and I got tired of replying "sold" to dozens of e-mails so I gave up and don't respond now. Even now 8 weeks later I still get e-mails from people asking for my bike, jesus christ I would have thought that ad of mine would be deeply buried 200 pages down the throughfare, how are they still finding it?

I'll have to agree with this. I bought my street bike off of a GTAM member from Waterloo and my track bike came from Sutton off Kijiji.
It takes patience and the willingness to travel to get a great deal.

There's lots of hope for Kijiji.

...it's humanity that there's no hope for.

You realize that in a click or two you can cancel an ad right?

That goldwing doesn't seem completely unreasonable. Those things sell for about $30k+ new. He's probably priced it higher because people will come in with lower offers.

If you ask me, the bigger pain with Kijijij is trying to sell something. Dealing with people making ridiculous lowball offers and offers for trades. I had a 2009 Ninja 250 listed for $3700 and I was getting people offering me $1500. One guy offered me a band saw and some cash. Another offered me a 1978 ford pick up.
