ok so today i am picking up my brand new 2011 Kawi zx6r :) I was all excited and stuff when this morning by boss told me that they will let me go after 4 weeks :(

I mean life is a biznatch!!! isn't it??
 
That sucks. Same thing happened to a buddy of mine who worked at RIM. Bought himself a new CBR250R and was let go a month later after 6 years of service.
 
Are you stuck with it, or is there still time to invoke the buyers remorse clause of the agreement?
 
sometimes you get good and bad. hopefully you are in a line of work where you could pick up another job relatively quickly or have enough stashed away to bridge whatever gap you need to.

Almost no job is 100% secure in todays climate. Good luck

your buddy didn't quit soon enough or he had too much faith in his ex-employer.

Well, he kinda knew it was coming. He got a nice buyout. Managed to pay off the bike :p

That's what happens when you buy a 250. If he got a Litre bike, he would have gotten a promo. :eek:

Laugh bud, just laugh. Been there and there is not a lot else to do. Start cranking the resumes out, if your soon to be former employer offers out placement, take it. The councillors have some great ideas, tips, and can hook you up with some pretty impressive web sites and support. I have gone through this twice and it can truely suck. Make a list of everyone you know and let them know you are looking, ask them to keep you in mind if they hear anything - they want to help but they have to know. It may take a while but you will get a job.

thanks for the support folks, means alot!! I am in engineering profession so hopefully i will find something. I have also done my police testing and have the certificate. If nothing works out then i will head out that way. I am trading my bike in so i am only paying 3000.

But i say, live your life before it leaves you out!
 
****** about the job but at least you have some more riding time while you're looking for another gig.
think of it as a blessing to spend more time riding your new bike!

You can negotiate a package if you quit. Depends on your relationship with your employer and the directly the company wants to take. Sometimes they appreciate getting offered an "out".

ya it happens often that a manager makes it very obvious to an employee about his/her under performance and the likely outcome of it so that the employee would quit before getting fired. it would save the company/management a lot of hassle and a potential law suit. at least this is what i have seen in banks.
 
When I got my first bike a few years back in April, my contract with my employer at the time was coming to an end that May. I didn't find another job after that for almost an entire year - but it was my first season on a bike and did I ever take that bike out every single day!! :) ... was a great season. Sounds like you're in a good profession and have a great back up plan in any event - enjoy the extra ride time while you can!
 
good luck on your future adventure OP, hopefully you can find a job quick.

Otherwise, pack the new bike and go riding, leave the country, change your name and all that pretty stuff!! they can't really reposes the bike if you not around the city anymore :P
