Any Thruxton Owners?

Im really interested in a thruxton, and as everyone knows, they are impossible to find. I was hoping someone had one that I could sit on. There are a bunch for sale in the USA, and I have no problems going down to buy it, but I dont want to do all that work to go south just to find out, i dont like the feel/fit of it.

NOT looking to drive it, just sit on it. Anyone in the preferably Hamilton/Brant/Haldimand area have one and willing to meet up for a coffee at Timmys? My treat ;-)

Im in Hagersville (just about exactly half way between hamilton and port dover on #6 highway south).

Ive been going to head up to GP but its a long trip. Thought id try here first. SOMEONE must have one .

If I may make a suggestion, although I am not a thruxton owner I did have the pleasure of booting one around for a few weeks. Although visually the bike turned my crank it had to be one of the most uncomfortable bikes I'd ever rode. Low clip-ons and no tank to rest your body left everything on my arms/wrists. Nevermind just sitting on one...I'd highly recommend test riding one before making a purchase.

do you remember what year? Apparently the 08 or 09+ have different handle locations. Quite a bit higher in comparison.

Oh sorry my bad, It was a first generation/year ....and I think your correct that the bars were raised on the new version, just not sure exactly which year.

When do you wanna meet?

where are you located?

Yeah, but it's the colour of butt pudding... :-D

Thats ok, my car is piss yellow ;-)

Ya. Apparently there is early and late. Only major difference from my reading is ergo on the handles. http://cycle-ergo.com/ shows a great deal of difference between them

Gp is nearly 2 hours away. Toronto is 1.5 at least depending on where. Local meetup would be ideal. Also would be nice to speak to an owner instead of sales man looking for commission

You cant drive an hour and a half to look at a bike you are interested in? Wow have things changed. I used to ride my bicycle that far to go to look at new bike.

2 jobs, 2 kids (under 4) , and 4 hour (at best) round trip.. YOU try to schedule that in ;-)

I have every intetion of doing it. However meeting someone local is ALOT easier to fit in, and should settle my desire quickly. Waiting to find a day to make the trip up seems to be getting put off for more important things. Despite my love for bikes, time with my kids and family is more important.

+1
What's the world coming to?

I guess reading is > you.

Like I said, more then willing to do it. Just zero free time to take a half day to go 'look' at motorcycles. Id rather see one sooner then later, and much rather talk to an owner who ACTUALLY drives it and ISNT trying to sell it to me for profit.

Looking for some one local doesnt seem that far fetched. Sooo.. Unless you have one, please, move along ;-)

You can talk to lots of thruxton owners online, there must be forums for that specific bike, or triumph in general. Go to a dealer, check it out, sit on it, ask what you want and move on. Then state your concerns or questions online and have a sea of people who would be happy to answer I am sure.

not an owner, but love the bike, good luck!

Just curious? When did you plan on riding it?
