This Review suggests this bike will be available to Canada. Question will be at what price. I would like to see this bike. I will be in the market next year for a new bike perhaps. By the looks of the specs, this could be the bike for me.

Apparently, this bike weighs about the same as the pre 2011 cbr125 (187 lbs) has a gas tank of 14.5 litres with a range of 440 km. Same as the cbr125 2011. It has 1 hp power more and weighs less than the 2011 cbr125.

The Big cherry, a factory race kit that will boost the bike to 25 hp. That should be enough hp to lay a beating to the ninja 250.

I want to see this bike. It would be nice if it were at the upcoming shows.

Who's that sorry-lookin goofy kid posing next to it in the pics? LOL

The olny bike that will sidetrack my peaking interest for this aprilia is a fuel injected ninja 250. What bike will be available first.

If horsepower is your concern, why not go for something with a little more go?

The insurance retards still base insurance on cc's. The manufacturers for whatever reason start to bulk up the bikes, the larger they get they start robbing you of fuel economy. My 08 cbr125 has about 13 hp and weighs 280 lbs. I find the bike functionable. I know how my bike functions. The bike clips along at 100 kph no problem. Add a few hps with the same weight that would boost the capabilities. Bump the bike to 25 hp with the same weight, you would have a bike able to clip along at 130 kph all day long. With the aprilia, you will have the benefit of low insurance and excellent fuel economy. The performance of the aprilia with the race kit will rival the cbr250 and the ninja 250.

Pre 2011 CBR125R is 280 pounds dry,

I know I have one. The problem with the CBR125R, it's SOHC. The aprilia is DOHC. Honda does not offer a factory upgrade. You could get an athena kit and boost the bike to 166 cc and 16.5 hp. If you go with the Aprilia and add the race kit that will boost the bike to 180 cc and give you 25 hp! The cbr125 and the cbr150 is the same bike aside from the extra cc's. For whatever reason they won't bring that bike to Canada.

There is also the KTM duke 125 on the horizon. That bike is also DOHC, 280 lbs and has 15 bhp. KTM is also going to offer a Factory upgrade option to 200 cc. I haven't found any reviews on the upgrade. I wouldn't be surprised, like the aprilia 25 hp +. Honda is about to get some serious thumper competition.

I know I'm bumping an old-azz thread up but whatever happened to this bike coming to Canada? I was looking at getting this as a fun commuter as opposed to the cheap as old chips CBR and the not-that-fun-or-pretty 250 Ninja/CBR.
