$1.99 Fuel tank rust removal

Honda XL70 fuel tanks don't grow on trees, they were a low production bike to start with and the tanks are getting more rare as they are a direct swap for the early and very popular XR75.

Not too many early XR75's tanks survived with guys like Jeff Ward setting a fast paced example. This leaves makes clean examples of the XR75/XL70 tank hard to come by and expensive.

I lucked out and picked up this peach XL70 tank for the low low price of $130 (shipping included).

Decent dent on the left side, shouldn't be too big of a deal. Petcock leaks like a sieve and then there's the issues within ...

But I ain't 'skeered. I've got the $1.99 secret weapon.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Nope, Vinegar. Tastes great on Fries and removes rust.

It's good but not good enough.
You've got to coat it for it to be optimal.

you need to neutralize the acid after you use it.. banking soda and water does this.. then hose it out and dry it with compressor
