To each their own - I have a promise to myself that I'll make it home every day to see my 7 month old daughter - but I love bikes. I'll sweat a bit if I can keep my own butt safer...

interesting how things change for some of us. I know exactly what you mean :)

Come on - it's not that hot, just get proper gear. Rode as usual to and from office today, full gear.

Yes, you can regale them with such stories as "when I was your age, we used to ride 30 kms to work in the sun when it was hot... uphill, both ways"

Glad to see someone other than myself watched Bill Cosby's stand-up. :) (even though he was sitting down during the show)

did my M road test today

oh man was it hot... especially with all the stopping
bike barely got a chance to get fresh air during that test

It's actually not bad at all with mesh gear.

I have mesh overpants with cordura inserts in areas which can be potentially impacted.
My jacket for such days is fully perforated leather
Perforated leather boots, partially perforated leather gloves and helmet of course.

Took out the liner from my Speed & Strength textile jacket, opened all the vents on it and the helmet and had no issues with the 400/401 or in-town.

don't really ride rain or shine, if it's raining when I'm leaving in the morning i'll drive, but as long as I can make it to work dry i don't care about getting wet on the way home.

Who here is going to ride in the dark tonight? Maybe I should make a new thread instead...

lol.. I guarantee you there's a ton of peeps here who dont ride after dark !

I rode 200kms today in leathers and 20-30kms of that on dirt roads (unintentionally). Lots of fun actually and reasonably OK when moving at speed. I found my bike was nice and stable on dirt roads and gravel surfaces which is good.

also WATCH OUT FOR THAT SIDESTAND..I went in for a drink and some lunch at one place and came back to see my bike had dug itself into the tarmac a bit. I'll post up a warning in the main section if someone hasn't done so yet.

Rode to Angus to hang out with some friends and rode back home. Full leather jacket and all. Not bad if there is no traffic. All vents open. no liner

rode yesterday and today. The engine on my new ride gives off some serious heat compared to my old 250. kind of uncomfortable in heavy traffic.

Saw lots of bikes on Mercer St yesterday with the stands deep into some newer ashphalt. Hopefully no one fell over today!

I added the touratech base to my kick stand, easy install, not to pricey, especially for a touratech part and its great just being able to put my kick stand down wherever and not worry about it.

No AC in Cherokee. Squid for the first time this year. I imagine squid tomorrow too.
