What happened to all the good jackets?

well, we got 36 posts before this thread started falling apart.:lmao:

so I guess no one has a stinger for sale eh

Traditional, good looking leather jackets made in Canada. OK, you caught me, Quebec. I would recommend replacing the padding with real armour, but I definitely miss my 3353. Had it for 15 years, with no real signs or wear, before breaking it in during a slide. Damned insurance company wanted it.

Wait, you're saying this:

scorpion_stinger_white_jkt_400.jpg

is LESS douchebaggy than the RS Taichi jacket posted in here? Oh come on, that graphic on the back is one notch below (and not by much) an Affliction/Ed Hardy t-shirt on the obnoxious scale...

To each their own (fwiw, the Taichi is less understated/more simplistic than this jacket).

If it's not the jacket, well then, I'll continue to want to have sexual petting episodes with your forum avatar.

to be fair the jacket he wants is this

Less bad then in white, but still has stupid graphics. Not sure what the OP is talking about with "matte" leather?? Taichi jacket is 100 bucks more, but is a way higher quality piece and comes with a 100 dollar slip in back protector. Could easily sell that back protector for 60 bucks to someone that values their spine. This has already exceeded my interest level tho,

+1 ...just in the jacket

Give me til the weekend.. i'll pull a D O U C H E move and take a sweet pic before training.. after all...

Best post of the day... and we are all holding you to your word

So wait what happened to your matte leather jacket when you went down once? You tore right through it right? My ever so slightly shiny taichi jacket has hit the pavement a half dozen times and only scuffs. All high quality leather i've seen has a bit of a sheen to it, i like scorpions textiles but cant imagine why you'd want to spend that kind of money on one of their leather. Actually would expect icon to be higher quality.

Rising French brand. I got a jacket and suit from this brand 6 years back when they were only represented in UK stock leagues, but now you'll find them on Colin Edwards and a host of Moto2 riders. Amazing quality leather for the price. I abuse both suit and jacket. One gets tracked, the other gets sloshed through the worst fall, winter and spring have to offer.

LoL don't assume things, it makes you sound ****ing retarded. I got hit by a car and went ten feet... scuffed and insurance wanted it back and gave me money to buy a new one. Before I handed it in I went down from a 12 0'clock and got some nice roll and slide action, and again... scuffed.
Unfortunately by the time I handed it in and got my cheque the jacket was discontinued.

smartass

is that IXON or am I reading it wrong?

Aww is someone offended? I don't give a **** what other people wear or if you don't wear gear at all. I just think its an over rated brand with ****** quality product (buddies jacket started peeling within a week).

The stinger was a fantastic jacket. Better quality and protection than astar.

Ride soon homie!

I have two Dainese jackets, the Bora and the Tattoo.
Quality is top notch, the Bora is a few years old and it didn't peel. (I do clean it and treat it often)
The Tattoo is just badass, I bought it at the beginning of the season from Rider's Choice.
I put around 1500 KM's on it and haven't seen any "peeling" as you mentioned about your friend's jacket.
The softest leather, the best fit (for me), great ventilation and the price is well worth it IMO.
Neither of those jackets were cheap and I'm a strong believer in the "you get what you pay for" sentiment.
I can't/won't say anything negative about other brands because in all honesty, I haven't tried any.

IXON. You read it correctly.

Ixon versus Icon...lol.

For those who won't be familiar with the brand will wonder why you're wearing an Icon knockoff ("Jesus, dude was too cheap to even afford an Icon jacket").

Hehehe, yes this is true. But the die hards will know you're reppin'. Do you really care what Icon vests think of your gear?
