What happened to all the good jackets?

I agree with the OP. I've been looking for a new leather jacket but went textile just cuz of the bad selection. Im a A* guy as well and still wearing my 5yr old leather jacket. It's got enough bug splatter on it to make onehelluva protein shake!!
 
Ok, so it's a serious thread..

I didn't like the two tone that my jacket came in, so I tracked it down online on eBay. It came in all one colour (black).

how is this not every bit as nice as the scorpion stinger jacket? Comes with full Knoxx race grade armor, including slip in back protector, stretch panels everywhere, pockets in the front. No more whining, mmmmk?!

Comes with a wind blocking inner liner that i was quite comfortable down to about 15C - rideable down to 10, can always toss a sweater over the jacket.

I'm a little surprised that no ones mentioned Icon...despite their reputation they have some quality jackets and come in a more comfy straight cut rather than a tapered race cut. OP if you're looking for a jacket for stunting why are you so worried about it being from this year??
 
anyone have a Spidi "Basic Black" model leather jacket in size XL. I will buy it from you. (or any info as to where i can find one would be appreciated)
 
I just got an amazing jacket from Alpinestars... I look so sexy in it!!! Can't wait to ride!!! ... but on a side note AlpineStars had nice jackets for men fitted too!! i bought mine at gpbikes

Agreed, I don't know or care what reputation Icon has, but I like the quality of their jackets, in my opinion much better than Shift or Speed and Strength.

Beyond the fact that the black version isnt matte and the price is a solid $100 more... it doesn't have the look I'm going for, if I wore that I would feel as ****** baggish as the guys rockin' blinged out ed hardy t-shirts to the club

Icon isn't bad but like I said if your not the cookie monster or the hulk it looks like your swimming in a dead cow.

I'm not worried about it being from this year, as a matter of fact the jacket I really want (scorpion stinger) is last years model. I don't give a **** what year its from I just want a steezy, tough and affordable jacket. Scorpion went and ****ed that up

About a month ago you mesaged me to go for a ride, but I have been busy sorting my bike out, anyway, in the mean time, I bought a new Dainse jacket because all the other ones on the market were dog $h_it.

So, i guess now I'm a d o u c h bag, should I still message you to go for a rip?? lol

To add to the thread, the scorpion stinger jacket is nice, I was considering it, then decided against it because of the exposed zipper.

The 100 dollars covers a knox slip in back protector which you should be buying for any jacket anyway, and it also has knox GP armor in the entire jacket which is a sweet upgrade. IMO that jacket has almost the exact same look as the scorpion stinger, just with out all of the lame tribal nonsense. But suit yourself

I'd go as far as to say it's nicer. I have the old version of the GMX motion and the fit/finish is absolute top shelf, i've crashed in it enough times at the track now and it just scuffs, extremely high quality leather. And as mentioned comes with race armor. PLus comes with a race ready 360 zipper for pants, plus tons of stretch panels, plus a very good super thin wind proof liner that doesn't effect fit, PLUS.............

Aww is someone offended? I don't give a **** what other people wear or if you don't wear gear at all. I just think its an over rated brand with ****** quality product (buddies jacket started peeling within a week).

The stinger was a fantastic jacket. Better quality and protection than astar.
