I like their cuff links.
Same thing in the auto industry. Die-hard Honda fanbois would be shocked to know how many parts for those cars come from the same suppliers in the same factories that are supplying parts for GM, Ford, Chrysler, and everyone else.
Who ****ing cares, did you sell me a pair for 120 bucks? Have you made an effort on helping out anyone in this forum? If the answer is no, then **** off
Not the first time this has come up.
Identical? No.. but very similar.. yes.
- Knuckle protection
- Finger articulation
- Logo placement and colour choices (look at the black and white velocity glove)
- The name of the glove model itself
- Wrist articulation
- Wrist enclosure
- The shape of the panels that make up the palm
- Thumb protection
- Placement of the stingray armour
When that many things are that similar I refuse to accept that it's a coincidence.
Velocity also claimed that Jason DiSalvo was wearing their glove, but he wears Heroic. That post has since been edited but it's stored in a Google cache somewhere.
Sad thing to me that really bugs me is that I made a phone call to Jimmy and he said you know, I had the factory make your product without having a conversation with you and your right; I will quit selling these. I have only bought a few samples. He said I will stop doing this. Month later... Here we are.
The point in all of it is Heroic is getting screwed by this. To be honest part of me feels like Heroic needed to do more to protect their product, but i dont think a contract with a company in pakistan protecting your intellectual property is worth the paper its written on, and if he has them made here then we would be looking at 500 dollar gloves which no one would buy.
At the end of the day Heroic's manufacturer is selling basically his exact same product to Jimmy at velocity. Regardless of Heroics role in protecting their product, i think what Jimmy at velocity is doing is pretty cowardly, and people be aware when they are supporting him that this is the sort of person they are keeping in business. Little pieces of green paper dont make me feel better about dealing with a coward.
I can sympathize with someone that put a lot of time and effort into developing something for market. BUT, you cannot reasonable expect consumers to pay significantly more money on principle when both products are made offshore to save money on production by exploiting foreign labour environments. .
Is HEROIC a paid sponsor of yours or something ? lmao ..
I am not advocating that Jimmy is a saint, far from that, all I am saying is that he took the marketing initiative to create the group buy, yes he made money out of it but he did help many people (me at least and about 107 more) getting quality gloves at not over priced prices.Do you think Velocity is a charitable organization?
They are local, that's a huge advantage they have over Heroic. Do you think Jimmy lost money on that group buy? Utimately it's a business and he's in it to make money. Did anyone ask Heroic what price they could offer on a 60-70 pair glove order? I doubt it. He's not local and it never came up. Jimmy came up with the group buy plan to stimulate local sales. You didn't get a good price on those gloves out of the goodness of anyone's heart, it was a volume discount. There's a large local target market that Velocity can tap into and that target market likes the discount. The group buy is mutually beneficial but it's not a charity.
If it was not for the R&D and work that Heroic put into their SP Pro glove the Velocity VR Pro glove would not exist. If you're happy with the protection provided with either glove, credit belongs to Heroic.
If he proves he started them first then I won't buy from velocity ever again
just playing devil's advocate... will there be a rebuttal from Velocity?
If he proves he started them first then I won't buy from velocity ever again
IIRC the earlier SP-Pro was available several years before Velocity existed.
2 years. 2009 is when they were released.
It's probably better if disputes like this are resolved the RIGHT way ... and that right way is NOT discussion in a public forum.
That's not a very good analogy. This thread is a joke. What company made the firs bike? Does everyone only buy from that company? Everyday everyone buys rip offs of other products, but people here are trying to take the moral high ground. Lol.....just lol.
That's not a very good analogy.
