I had a spare EXO-700 helmet and decided to make a cookie monster helmet that I saw online a while ago.

Here it is in all it's glory! The looks on kids faces is great!! :D

Very cool! I'd like to do a Darth Vader. :-)

That's awesome. You should start a service or better yet do a video tutorial for the next project.

That is awesome! You might make a few $$$ with this! Hell I'd be interested in one!

Very creative! I've always wanted to do this but from what i have read is that you'll get pulled over for his in ontario.

Passed a few cops and got smiles!

What dumb law could this be breaking now
It could alter the DOT designation. Helmets are designed to be smooth so adding anything that protrudes could possibly violate that.

This is why I won't be providing tutorials on how I made it, I'm sorry folks.. I had to figure it out for myself and I don't want to take that risk and possibly kill someone!!

you need a Dot/shell approve helmet, I would guess as long as the rider can show the original sticker on the helmet no law is broken.

Unfortunately I've read the same thing. Any mods can technically nullify the DOT/SNELL certification.
Ive read even putting stickers on a helmet can do this. Not sure about it but it's what I've heard. How would reflective tape on a helmet cancel certification? Anyone know? Or is it bs?

It's not so much the actual sticker, it's the chemical used on the sticker that can weaken the structural integrity of the helmet which makes it "illegal"

Arai says you can add stickers to their helmet, but certain helmets made out of certain composites should not have any kind of adhesive added to them.
