Slippery Seat

So I took my new bike out on the weekend with gf on the back. The seat is the slippery'est seat I have ever had (amongst 15+ bikes I've owned this is the slippery'est). She's sliding around on the back of it like a skating rink. Have you guys tried this ?

Or what else have you done to make your seat less slippery without doing an outright seat replacement... Is there a local supplier that makes something grippy ?

Maybe washing it would help? Dealer probably put Armor-All on it or something. It will probably go away pretty quick, and you'll have some shiny pants!

Velcro?

Lay down the law, not more riding commando in a skirt for her.

My current Corbin seat was slippery as hell whenever I accelerated. I had it recovered with an extra layer of softer foam on top and the problem went away.

I tried to wash it with soap and water and wiped it draw same difference...

hahaha

even for the riders seat I find it more slippery then anything else I've owned.

It could be that vibration is causing it. ;-):-)

But seriously....its likely Armour-All or a like product, strip it with a paint thinner or other mild solvent and then check it. If it still is not grippy then complain to the manufacturer or recover it yourself with vinyl (a very simple job if you know how to use a stapler/upholstery gun).

I used to slip off my sleeping pad all the time. I put some silicone dots on it. It keeps me in place.

May I offer to accidentally spill some coke on slippery seat?
If that's a little too sticky for your liking, maybe diet coke?

Pine Tar will help but she will have to wear proper gitch...
