What can I do with an old motorcycle helmet?

It has been dropped and has a chip in the paint, but I can't tell whether the structural rigidity of the helmet has been compromised.

Can it be recycled, or does anyone have any need for it?

I try to avoid throwing things in the trash as much as I can so I'm wondering what the other options (if any) are.

Make a planter out of it.

By the way, it's not cause you dropped it that it's useless by the way

Before you chuck it, what helmet do you have?

Cut it and make a bike helmet out of it and donate it to a neighborhood kid. He'll love it and remember it forever and will want a motorcycle in the future.

If you still have it, I wouldn't mind picking it up so I can fiberglass it to make a display only helmet design. Maybe like a mass effect helmet or something along those lines when I have some free time.

I'm in the sauga area.

Donate it to local paramedic/fire station. They'll put it on a dummy and cut it open for training.

Donate it to EMS for training purposes so when you wipe out later, the noob medics will know how to remove your noggin without breaking your neck.

Thats what I did...the donating of the helmet part anyway

I like the EMS training purposes idea. If they don't want mine, they're going out in the local trash.
