i was looking to change my tires on my 2001 f4i and i was looking for input. I use my bike as a toy on weekends. I was wondering what is the best tire for this bike for spirited rides. thank you in advance.

Also i was going to order online from pete so im also looking for shop to install them.

The PR3's are a a great all around tire that will allow you to have all the spirited riding you want with a tire that will last.

Q2 is a true sport tire while the Road 3 is designed for sport touring, so you'd get more mileage but probably a bit less grip if you're doing very aggressive riding. Riders Choice has some great deals on Michelin tires and install, I'd check them out too. The new BT106 Pro is a great option for you too.

based on the reviews i've read the pr3 will serve well for spirited rides and it out performs other similar class tires in wet conditions

Q2 have more grip PR3's will last longer your call. Personally I would use the Q2's and they are priced very good.

The Roadsmart Q2 would be more in line with the Pilot Road 3.

I've read reviews of guys track-riding on liter sportbikes on the PR3 and Roadsmart Q2. Maybe they're stretching the truth a little?

I have a set of PR3's waiting to go on my bike, but I'm not an SS rider.

In a nutshell.....

If you are going to take your bike to the track, and street. Go for Q2s.

Strictly street riding? PR3's.

End of thread.

Id get the PR2's as there was some threads about problems with the PR3's, unless michelin has fixed these issues.

pr3 at ~15000km street.track.offroad (lol)

q2 FOR GRIP!
pr3 FOR DISTANCE!
I think dunlop's st line is roadsmart? That would be a harder decision...

i went with the 190 55 17 q2s on my 929. hook up real good,ya still have to let em warm up a bit before cracking the throttle.my 2cents

I can sell you one set of the D-Sportmax Q2 with less than 1000kms for $150, the tires they're still mounted on my bike.
