1- Yes, identical in function.
2- Likely, I have seen them in the Hamilton PA for 49.99 on the floor (bought 4 for myself and family)

Cant seem to find them on the PA website, anyone have a link?
 
So just how stable should the bike be once in the chock? To make a long farce short, the non-Baxley knockoff chock (see turbodish's post) requires you to drill 4 new holes in the PA lift table to properly mount it.

Burgman/similar wheel-size owners: the pivoting wheel bracket must be set at it's smallest setting (closest to the bar) in order hold the wheel properly. Even then, the scooter wiggles a bit when gently pushed. I can't see using this without at least one ratchet strap as a precaution.

This might be a really stupid question, but would it be possible to 'back' the bike into one like the Baxley (or the RD knock-off)?

My reasoning is that I live in a condo, and really don't trust the kickstand at all (and if it falls, it will fall into my car). If I could back it into one of these and it would be just as stable (without bolting it to anything, like the vid), then I could still use the steering lock as well.
 
Anyone have the chock from Royal? Just curious if there are pre-drilled mounting holes for a trailer? Also, will it fit a mx bike tire?

Called Royal, they just mentioned it "should" fit but no mention of any mounting holes.

When the channel rotates forward to lock the tire, the back end of the channel comes up and can crack the fairing by the rad. I didn't know that but I was lucky - I have just a few milimeters of clearence that I noticed the first time I used it. Maybe it's designed to just miss the fairing?

I also have the same problem with the chock,had to modify the rear of the pivot to not touch the lower fairing.As for pulling the bike out of the chock no problem,,

The Cerka is $114 and has the mounting holes, however as BimmerMike has posted, the RD version (top) is regularly $129 but is apparently $68.88 when added to the cart.

If the RD version has the holes and is half the price of the Cerka chock then I'd purchase it.
 
I picked up the chock at Royal in Whitby last Thursday after reading this post.I paid $69.so it was $78 with tax.
I got it home and put it together right away.My bike is put away so I cant try it untill I get the bike out.

Like I said you can see the mounting holes in the pictures you posted, meaning both of them....They both have the holes in the exact same location
