Got Touring Plans for 2012?

Actually the prices sound surprisingly reasonable - compared to some U.S. motorcycle tours I've seen - although of course you still need to get there and I'm not sure what gas prices are running in Europe. Single supplement is not way way outrageous. Nice selection of bikes as well. What are you thinking - about $6,000 all in?

My travel budget this year is practically non-existent - but that doesn't mean I won't go anywhere, just that most likely I'll have my camping gear on the back of the bike. One trip will be to the Cabot Trail and one trip will be back to the U.S. southwest - mainly concentrating on New Mexico and souther Colorado - which got just kind of a drive-through last summer. Both of those will probably be week-and-a-day trips.

One of my friends who is fairly new to riding wants to go on a trip somewhere this summer and I've agreed to kind of "mentor" her - which will mean toning down my touring style substantially, but that's okay. I'm leaving it up to her where she wants to go, but I'm not expecting 12 hour days are on the agenda :-) Also she won't camp, but that's also okay since we'll be splitting accommodation costs.

I just had new chain and sprocket put on my bike before going to Arizona last June, and new tires put on when I got back, so hopefully this year will maintenance free other than routine spring tune up and oil changes, but at 117,000 k's and 10 years old I can't really discount that major repairs might be needed - fortunately I have friends in Lake George, NY, Morgantown, WV and Hagerstown, PA who will let me camp in their backyards, if needs be :-)

I'm thinking about a trip to the Charlevoix/Saguenay region of Quebec. I haven't experienced much of Quebec outside of Montreal and Quebec City, and I hear that area is beautiful. Good food too, by all accounts.

deals gap - did it last year - the area is just amazing roads for riding. definetly will be going back again this year.

Pennsylvania - Coudersport area - is also a good choice - especially if you are on a budget... lots of places to sleep for cheap, or camp.

Gas is really really cheap in PA as well.

A friend and I are talking about a Europe ride in September. Edelweiss is one of the companies we are considering.. another friend has used them and speaks highly of them.

A week at Deals Gap in May...and prob Thanksgiving wknd at Deals Gap again too.

I've been saving up all my pennies, and I think I'm ready to take the plunge in Europe!
Namely this (before the world ends in December  ):

Even though that's going to cost me most of my travel funds for 2012, I was still hoping to
do some other local tours - maybe 3-4 days at a time.

Anyone else have plans in the making?

I'm booked for the Alps Extreme with them, We'll be flying out Mid June for 7 days riding in the Alps. :D

Deals Gap in May is on the calender, I haven't really thought about the rest of the year. Too many kids too plan that far in advance.

I am in for the gap in May, would like to explore PA and WV some more this summer. Looking forward to another great riding season.

Yep gap in May, some weekends in PA and would like to explore more of WV.
Big one this year will be the east coast/Cabot trail of me. If that doesn't happen then will be heading to Cali and ride the coastal hyw.

I did the east coast and the Grand Canyon/Death Valley area in 2011. I am consdiering Alska this year but it depends on a few things. If I don't, I am sure I'll head down to the Deal's Gap area.

Alaska is 2014 for me, I thought a four week trip through the states, BC etc then the fast way back through the *groan* prairies. ;)

Lots of weekend stuff as well, with a May long weekend kick off four day ride south of the border.

Late August my brother and I will head to PEI to stay at my sister's b&b, and perhaps Cabot Trail again as it'll be a first for my bro. And the states on the way back with a stop for Mt. Washington, and a leisurely ride through New Hampshire and Vermont back home.

A few fall weekend rides including the ADVRider Color in the Catskills, after which I'll probably do another Turkey ride down south again.

Whoot! It's going to be a great year!
