Riding Mexico

Tulum looks filled with down on thier luck Mexicans.
I didn't even like it when the bus stopped at traffic lights.

Yea, pretty much. Taking the bus there, the tour guides kept beating it into our minds that low balling and dealing was pretty much an Olympic sport in Mexico, so don't try to beat them at it when it came to shopping. When we were out that night I gave a waitress a $10 Canadian tip and I could of swore she looked like she won the lottery. I also quickly realized being generous and giving out decent tips, PROBABLY wasn't the smartest thing to do in a crowded bar in Mexico.

That actually happened at the Myan ruins in Tulum.
I saw a semi prescious rock I wanted to buy and my wife saw a Mexican Shawl she liked.
We knew how much the exact items were priced at our resort. But these guys were asking a price about 50 times higher than that.
We bought nothing.

mexicans love to kill white people, canadains & americans, why risk your life in a third world country? my taxi driver was afaid to leave us, for fears of the bandido's robbing us, a true culture shock. never again!!!

Holy hell, where were you people going in Mexico?? I've been to Cancun and Cabo and will happily go back. I had no issues at all walking through San Jose del Cabo for hours by myself, including walking through neighborhoods. All of the people were very friendly.

There are certainly very dangerous areas of Mexico, but they are well known and you just stay away from them. I thought about renting a bike while in Cabo, but I didn't want to ride alone since I didn't know the area and frankly there didn't seem to be that many fun roads. My money was better spent on organized excursions like dune buggy and atv tours which were awesome. $90 got me an all day private atv tour on an amazing variety of trails with an hour of incredible whale watching thrown in. Just me and a guide.

Seeing a trend there? and if you look through the time line in link #3 you posted it's more of the same. Most of the victims are Canadians living in Mexico, not tourists. If you are just visiting for a week or two and going to any decent resort you will be just fine. You just need to have a little sense and stay away from the areas that the locals say you should stay away from.

I still see no reason to stay away from Mexican resorts for vacations.

I agree with you Lunatic. I would consider vacationing in Mexico again (not Acapulco) but it would have to be a reputable resort. Keeping with the OP's original topic, would I rent a motorcycle and explore different area's? Hells No!

My wife and I had the vacation of a life time at the Mayan Secrets Silver Sands.
What a fantastic resort.
But there was no way I was venturing out on our own at night.
We did many day trips to Mayan ruins, a aboriginal viliage, Zip lining, Repelling, and off to Punta Alan. Punta Alan was fantastic.
What a trip.
We were very safe in the tours.

To me just seems higher chance of being robbed or worse in Mexico then normal. have a few friends that went and were robbed be police and told if they reported it, it would not be in their best interest.
Before Open Gambit calls me a racist thats first hand information and also when to Nogalas Mexico and its was pretty bad so i have seen it as well.
I just wouldn't go and wouldn't suggest any of my friends either but we're all adults and can make our own choices without being attacked for stating our opinion.

Oh, that brings up a great point.
When exiting the airport, ignore all the people who say it is very far to the bus and want to charge you to get your bags there.
It's about 20 yards from the exit.
Back to the original thought.
When exiting, you push a button, and if the light goes green, you are up for a search of your bags. They will search everything.
They dug down into my toiletry bag and in the bottom I had a large Kershaw Blur knife and a very large Leatherman.
Not a word was said.
So I also had protection when I was there.

I think Mexico's a great place. It's the Mexicans I don't like. Get rid if them and I'd he happy to ride there.

I'll call you a racist if you say something racist.

One is a comment on Mexico's crime rate.

the other is responding to a guy who says he is from Mexico and its beautiful and he rides there with

"Mexico is a cesspool"
"if Mexico was so great why did you leave"

and other comments of the sort.
The post was since edited to be less dickish, but doesn't mean that it wasn't said.

If you can't see a difference between the two, thats not my problem, thats yours.

You callled me a racist in the wire thread around Warden Ave even though i never stated any race as you still called me one. You throw it around like know one i have ever met in my life and to let you know my wife is not white and i hate everyone equally doesn't matter their race, creed or colour. Stupid runs wild thru all humans.

Same people just want to bury their heads in the sand and pretent that we live in neverland and thats fine for some i just live in the real world and i have yet to see anyone say a person is racist when a joke it said about a white person which in fact is the same hate but that seems okay.

I'm not saying what the OP stated was the right way to word it and i'm not protecting or supporting him i just posted what i know and have been told.

Well, just from observing, OpenGambit loves jumping around here throwing out the racist card. If there is a Racism Police award he gets my vote. I don't want to open a can of worms, but it is true that the only accepted racism, is racism against whites.

I don't remember the kite string thread, and I am not going to dig it up right now.

There are tons of posts in this thread about the crime rate in Mexico apart from yours. I didn't suggest any of them were racist.
I call things like I see them, and in this case, I commented on one post. If thats "throwing around" the world racism, "burying my head in the sand" or "living in neverland" to you, then that suggests to me that you dont' think the post was racist, despite what you claim.

Maybe in your "real world" its ok to make a response like that, but in mine its not.

Puto ignorant too!!!! I will find you stewart!!!!!

Read what i clearly said i don't support the OP was that not clear enough to you?
