I recently bought a used minivan and the inside smells of smoke. It may not be as bad as some other cars, but I dont smoke so i can notice it more.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of it? Im sure its in the headliner and carpet because all the seats are leather.
I have heard of something called Ozium and Pureayre but have only read about these from people on the internet and who knows if they work the company lol.

Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You could take it somewhere like an auto detailer and have the interior cleaned. They should be able to get the smell out.

Ozium is ideal for removing any kind of 'smoke' smell, but it's not permanent in a "smoker's" vehicle.
I'd picked up a used Caravan, to flip a few yrs ago, that had the same problem, and actually had nicotine stains running down the plastic on the "A" pillers etc.
I used a miniature Bissel carpet cleaner (Little Green), and went crazy - did the headliner, carpets, and since the seats were not leather, I did them too. It took a LONG time, but it came out smelling almost new.
If it's smoke damage from a fire - I've seen everything attempted, nothing worked.
If you don't want to do it yourself, there's plenty of detailers, and or car wash places that 'might' get rid of the odor permanently.

Definitely hard to deal with. Clean, clean and clean.

On the high extreme I had a friend that worked in fire restoration (the ultimate smoke smell removal) he told me that the only thing that can get rid of the smell of smoke is more smoke! They used a small motorized device that they put a sent into the fuel and filled the damaged area with the scented smoke from the motor. In the movie Arachnophobia they used the same devices as props in the jungle to drop the bugs down from trees.

Ugh..my condolences..I sympathize.. :-(

put baking soda in knee high stockings and place it under the seats.

It depends how sensitive you are. I don't think it ever goes away 100% but Fabreeze short term and some of the other products help. Some use drier sheets but I've heard that some are toxic. Burn incence and you get your own choice of smells.

Find a detail shop with an "ozone generator". Basically looks like a fog machine. After the car is clean of any obvious stains or streaks they will put in the generator, shut the doors and leave it over night. In the morning it will be fresh as a daisy. Would not have believed some of the results had i not see the car before.

Is there anything more disgusting than a smoker?

A non-smoker.

A preechy non smoker.

steam cleaner...did wonders for cloth interiors of various cars i've had

my first car was a used volvo 740 that was a smokers car....ugh, that dark tint? that was an extra layer of nicotine...

ya i read about those ozone ones and they seem to work. You can rent them apparently too but no idea where.

A preachy ex-smoker?

Ever stop to think about WHY many ex-smokers are so preachy?

It's not until you quit that you realize just how idiotic you were.

I had a guy at work that complained about people smoking on the walkway because he had to walk past to get into the building. I always laughed and mentioned that his car wasn't much better, and that I'd rather not smell his exhaust. Now that I have woken up and see it from his point of view and now I get ****** when I have to smell that crap.
