Curiousity: Where do you hold onto the handle bar?

Smart *** answer: Right where her hair is held together by the elastic

Proper answer: Wherever the brake lever bends closer to the throttle, less distance for my fingers to stretch to grab the brake.

lmao i am so not sure how to take this thread...:happy3:

With one of these.

They need to change the name from General Motorcycle Forum to Facepalm of the Day.

In the middle, where I can cover the brake and clutch when necessary.

Where do I hold onto the handle bars? To be honest, most of the time I don't: for my left hand, I cover the clutch a lot in case I need to disengage it quickly, and my right hand is usually in a position that would better be described as lightly curled around the right grip thanks to my Throttle Rocker* - in just about the same position as if I was actually 'holding' / gripping it, but more relaxed.

Yes, of course I'll grip more tightly if I hit a bump or something.

* I like these devices but have no real brand loyalty - I'm sure all the other similar devices work about as well, really.

The correct way to hold the handlebars is towards the outside....away from the motorcycle. No one teaches you this but it makes sense because of vectors and parabolic velocity. Also think of the wind drag as opposed the the friction co-efficient between your hand and the grip. The kinetic energy from the motorcycle and the movement of you hands along with the thermal energy caused by the engine dictates that holding the handle bars towards the edge is more profitable. The math reduces the probability of getting in a crash and increases the odds of getting sexy girls.

Well at least it will be painless :)

I know because I also have small hands...

Actually I meant to poke fun at his general cluelessness and inability/unwillingness to decide anything for himself.

Having said that, I don't dislike the guy. Don't wanna be a hater.
