Motomaster Eliminator...
Rodney, I don't mind answering any of your questions, but the search function works really well.

Cheers.

You should be looking for a computer controlled battery charger and maintainer, that charges at no more than 1 amp. There are a couple good ones.

The Deltran is the original Battery Tender and is very good. They have a couple of models.

I bought a CTEK 3300 from Canadian Tire on sale for about $50. It is very good. Search on this forum for opinions, then using Google. Developed in Sweden, Made in China but the quality is very good.

Well, I got the Deltran Batter Tender Junior, which is 12V, 750 mA for $35, so that do the job for our bikes (Yamaha TW200 & Kawasaki 650R)

Yea, I did, but can return it if need be.

That ctek looks great, but a little pricey compared to the one I bought for $35. Although, I don't want crap either. So I'm hoping the Deltran Batter Tender Junior I bought will do me.

Spend $20 more and get the best. Get an Optimate 3 or 4 Battery Optimizer

Riders Choice have them on sale

I agree. get an Optimate. They can even desulfate a battery (rejuvenate an old dead battery often).

Honda will not warranty a battery my dealer tells me unless the battery has been put on an Optimate 1st by the dealer.

They go on sale often at dealers and the motorcycle show in January. Royal Distributing is the most expensive around that I have found. The red coloured ones that have Honda written on them are the same as the blue coloured ones without Honda written on them them.

The are far superior to typical trickle chargers. I would never use a Battery Tender trickle charger as I have seen and heard to many bad effects from them.

+1 on the CTEK. Canadian Tire has them on sale every once in a while for $50.

+1 for Optimate 3 or 4 I have the 4, it works great. I know my battery is always good after winter. I pull the battery and charge it once a month and then throw it back in the bike come spring all good! (a bunch of my friends give me their batteries too, so don't tell anyone you got it).

I've had my battery tended by Optimate 4 the last three seasons. Had no problems. When the bike is in my garage, it's hooked up so it's always ready to go.

I bought the little Deltran Tender JR. this past weekend and it worked perfectly. It's a little plug in adapter, you get normal jumper cables with it, as well as the little screw on ones that you can just screw on your battery and leave on permanent, with a little cord that you tuck in and can later just plug directly into the adapter. Small, easy, and it works like a charm, for under 50 bucks.
