Rear stands

You can also buy a cheap spool stand from Crappy Tire, but I can't attest to the quality. I'm not sure if they even carry front stands.

If you decide to spend some extra money and want to buy fantastic stands that will actually stand the test of time (excuse the pun... heh heh!), go down to Rider's Choice and pick up a set of Pit Bull stands. I switched over from a cheap rear stand to Pit bull front and rear and the quality is evident. You can also switch the front stand from a pin stand to a fork stand with an add-on.

Im looking for a stand that allows me to lube my chain easier. Would the pitbull stand allow me to rotate the tire freely or does it depend on the bike. i have a 2001 honda 600 f4i

Pitbull stand does the same thing for over twice the money. The pips are just bigger. I have the headlift pitbull stand, and it's good, but I find it unwieldy sometimes cuz of those thick diameter pipes. If you use it, take off the front fender.

There is a shop out in Ajax that sells front and rear Gorilla stands brand new for 80 bux...but I cant speak for the quality of whether they are decent or not....

I'm looking to get stands for maintenance and storage over the winter. I looked at the kijij add posted as well as the BVP stands on blue streak. They seem to be identical down to the description. The ones on blue streak are $100 front and rear and ship for free, even with taxes it's $113. Just wondering if I'm missing something the kijiji add wants $130.

From what I've read spools can be had from your dealer for pretty cheap or even ebay. I'm new but from what I can tell there isn't much to a spool, I could probably have my buddy machine some for me on midnights.

Same stands most likely. Unless you're going with pit bull stands, all other ones are more or less the same. I have BVP-like stands from GP, should have bought them from BSR, but had the group-on certificate for GP and had to use it.

You don't need spools on your bike for a rear stand, just look for one that has a rubbery flat part for your swing arm to sit on. I have a stand that you can change it from just a swing arm mount to a spool mount. My bike doesn't have a space for spool, but if yours does, just get some spools, you'll have more stand options

Having seen quite a few of my friends different stand I can definitely say the Pit Bull ones seem the best. The big thing is the balance point. The Pit Bull ones seem to be effortless to lift the bike and are easy to do with one person.
