There goes my season...

just need to get this out...I have played rugby for aurora for about 8 years, and this season had to say I couldn't play due to certain restrictions. Coach calls me up 3 weeks ago to find out what we can do to get me back. We figured it out, been gettin back to optimal shape but wasn't as bad off as I could have been. First game yesterday against beaches (always a physically dirty team..). collected a few sucker punches early on, but I shake those off most of the time. And right before half, my left arm gets broken! Broken right through the bone, and I need to get a plate installed in the next few days.

Now.., my gf (live with) wants to ride the bike, but we weren't hong to put her on insurance until next season, as she got her m1 this season and just did the course for m2. If I take myself off and put her on.. Would it affect my rates next year because I wasn't insured for 6 months our whatever it is? Any input would be great. Ride safe everyone, I'll be back!

I'm pretty sure you just can't take insurance of the bike in your name and then insure it under her name without transferring ownership of the bike to her as well.

sorry to hear... i love rugby! pretty bad-*** way to end the season, man ;)

Call your insurance agent and ask if she can be put on your bike policy as a second rider. I did this once with an ex-g. She had her M1 and wanted to practice on my bike for a few weeks. My broker added her her name on my policy. But she still needs to have car insurance of her own. She can't ride without any insurance.

Not a problem with our agent. Didn't feel like transfering the ownership of our Honda to my GF's name as it would require a re-cert. She's been riding it all season with insurance under her name and the ownership still under mine.

I'm sure someone on here will say it's fraud. lol

I called the insurance agent before my girlfriend got her m1.. And they said to add as a secondary, it would be an extra 800 bucks... that's a lot! I guess I will call this week and explain the situation, see if anything can be done to get her riding without forking out a whole lot of money

It shouldn't be a problem. The driver of the vehicle doesn't have to own it. Just ask any parent or owner of a company with a fleet. Tell your agent and have her named on the policy. Done.

In fact, anyone with an M license of any class can ride your bike anytime. The insurance company only gets concerned if its a more regular situation.

i thought ins. follows the vehicle??? why need to change name on OP's policy? ie, if u are drunk and need a DD, do u need to call your agent and change the name on the ins. policy?

800 a year is peanuts. I pay nearly that each month just to drive my car

Sorry to hear about the end to two of your seasons though, must really bite.. but hey, once you can move your fingers well again you'll be on the bike cast or no cast. ;)

Rugby? Pfft. Try Aussie Rules instead. It's essentially a brawl with a weird ball thrown in.

She can ride it with you as the owner and insured under your name. Only problem is a claim would go against your record.

Griffin and joujou.. I have looked into the matter of letting her drive on my policy, but the rules are retarded when it comes to living with someone. I could let anybody in the world drive my bike except got her and they would be covered. I believe it has to do with always having access to the keys. Insurance doesn't like the idea of covering 2 people for the price of one. And the secondary driver is high because she is 21 yr old, first year with license. I am still only 24, do next year is the big break for me all around. If I can get enough finger strength to clutch I would be riding casted... But only time will tell.
