GPS mount pics

When I had my Honda CB919 I my Zumo on the left:

Had virtually the same setup and position on my '06 GS as well.

Now on my '10 GSA I have centred and really prefer it there, much more natural to check it.

Not mine, but here is what not to do: http://youtu.be/Q_0NrBAokYU

Definitely going to be sticking to my mount setup :happy3:

As great as velcro is, I just would have a tough time trusting it for anything expensive like my Zumo. Also, not having a power source for the GPS that setup in the video a terrible idea. If you can only ride for 3 to 4 hours a day on a trip before you need to charge up, then its fail.

bought the parts from RAM mounts online. Cost me $9.00. Bought some rubber grommits when I mounted to reduce the vibration. Works awesome.

I use my phone as my gps :p. Nothing is made for the Motorola Atrix (everything is iPhone), so I made it myself! Just did it a month-ish ago and not a single problem! Bike is GT250R.

What app do you use for your gps? Assuming its not waterproof, do you have a cover for it to use in the rain? Powered by the bike?

I'll post pics when i can but i mount my GPS on the left handle bar (RAM Mount). I also interchange the holding thing with a iPhone version of the ram mount. Perfect when your not doing long trips and just want to take a short clueless ride.

Couple of ram mounts (available at Radioworld http://www.radioworld.ca./) on my Wing.I carry a paper map in my pocket on the Hyper.

When this phone plugs into the vehicle mount... it turns itself into a full gps unit, it's really cool lol. I'm looking for a clear plastic case that would go around the whole unit if I needed it to. Right now, if it's raining a bit, it's not a problem because it worked out that if I am moving, it doesn't get hit by rain at all. If it's heavy, I switch the power off, cover the plug on the mount and don't use it if I am just booting around. Yes, it is powered by the bike and I put a on/off switch.

Swung the stem mount and USB power port over from the cbr, both have same size stem hole. A power port of some sort is a must, how much room you have will dictate if you have room for a cigarette lighter, which could be handy.
