Karma?

There may be a tiny possibility for an explanation on this, but if it is what it looks like, I'm not sure I'd tempt karma like this...

A few days in a row now at my new gym...

Well someone with one arm can also ride a motorocycle... sooo you never know.

put a note on his bike not to park there, give it 1 day to change... if he still doesn't listen ? call parking enforcement to get him a ticket ...

there is no reason a rider should be parked in a handicap spot unless he's got a handicap permit. park anywhere else, on the curb, by the building if you want to be next to the door, but in the handicap ? ...

i have 0 patience for these people since I used to have a grandfather who was in a wheelchair. He had these stupid-arse people doing this to him all the time...

thats a ****** move!

Burn the witch!

But seriously, I am trying to imagine a disablity that would entitle you to preferred parking while still being able to operate a bike... and all I can come up with is some sort of lung issue or something... but even then...?

I always figured the point of the hadicapped parking spaces was less about being close to the building, and more about extra space to allow for a wheelchair lift, etc.

Meh, let the parking enforcement badboys take care of the creep.

The person may have a legit reason:

http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/dandv/vehicle/app.shtml

[h=3]Who is eligible for an APP?[/h] To qualify for an APP, the individual must be certified by an APP program recognized health practitioner as having one or more of the following conditions:

  • Cannot walk without assistance of another person or a brace, cane, crutch, a lower limb prosthetic device or similar assistive device or who requires the assistance of a wheelchair.
  • Suffers from lung disease to such an extent that forced expiratory volume in one second is less than one litre.
  • Portable oxygen is a medical necessity.
  • Cardiovascular disease impairment classified as Class III or Class IV to standards accepted by the American Heart Association or Class III or IV according to the Canadian Cardiovascular Standard.
  • Severely limited in the ability to walk due to an arthritic, neurological, musculoskeletal or orthopaedic condition.
  • Visual acuity is 20/200 or poorer in the better eye with or without corrective lenses or whose greatest diameter of the field of vision in both eyes is 20 degrees or less.
  • Condition(s) or functional impairment that severely limits his or her mobility

The bike needs a handicap sticker and the rider needs to have difficulty walking to use the space. Otherwise, have the bastard towed.

amusing, my gym doesn't even have handicap parking

Not all disabilities are apparent. If s/he is legally entitled to handicapped parking, s/he must display a permit. No permit, no entitlement. Call your local parking authority.
Lots of handicapped people go to gyms. There's one guy at my gym who removes his prosthetic leg when he works out, props it against the wall.
