Thanks to all of you who showed up to the the Suzuki Demo tour on July 16 @ Brampton PowerSports. In this thread I would love to hear about your experiences in regards to how you felt the event went. What you liked and didnt like, what you think could have gone better. If you came to the last demo tour we would like to know how you felt it compared. How friendly and interactive were the Suzuki and PowerSports staff. What did you think of our giant showroom and bike selection?! And anything else you can think of! If you want to let everyone know about the bike you road and your thoughts on it we are just trying to keep that to the other thread ( Suzuki Demo tour @ Brampton PowerSports July 16) Thanks :D

Our group of 4 arrived around 845 ish. Figured with the amount of posting going on with the previous thread it would be busy. We were right. 2 of us signed up for a 10am ride, the other 2 for an 11am ride. There was no chance we would be signing up for a second ride, for the fact it was so busy and it was so hot.
It was very well organized. Line up, first come, first serve, the bikes were out and available to look at, reps were available to talk to, the store was open to peruse, etc.
There are a couple things I would have liked to have seen:
1. Quicker turn around. Group A rides at 10am. Riders got back around 10:30. Group B for 11am had to stand around and wait. It would have been nice to see Group A riders get back, a 10 min break max and then Group B proceeds. You could likely squeeze in one or two more rides by the end of the day this way.
2. A clean parking lot. Holy sand and gravel batman. We are all riding a bike that is new to us, would have been nice not to put a foot down every single time into something unknown.
3. While having all right hand turns was useful, one left hand turn (aside from the one leaving the parking lot) would have been appreciated.
4. A hand held speaker. Even though we were standing outside looking at the bikes, we didn't know our group was getting "the pre ride talk" until we just started seeing people gravitating to a rep before the ride. An announcement for the group to proceed for pre race talk would have been good.
5. Everyone knows the Gixxers would be popular and be the first to be booked, why not have 2 available of the most popular bikes?

All in all, for my first demo ride, it pretty much went the way I had thought it would. I'm glad it wasn't chaotic and that it was as organized as it was. Good to meet some other riders and take a look at the store. Thanks Brampton Powersports and Suzuki.

Was a bit disappointed I didnt get to try the bikes I wanted to try because there was a huge amount of people. But I thought it was handled very well by Brampton Powersports given that there were so many people and limited amount of bikes.

I agree with XTRAWLD about the quicker turnaround, might have been able to get more rides in.

Everything was good except for one thing for me. I wish there were more than one GSX-R 600s to try so that me and my friend could both ride them at the same time without having to go separate rides. GSX-Rs are such popular bikes. Could have more than one there. Everything else was good thou!!!

I too have to agree that the organizers did an outstanding job with keeping the event running smoothly. There really was a huge crowd and with limited resources, they made best with what they had and it turned out flawlessly.

I too would've liked a quicker turnaround to give a go at other bikes on my list. With other posts considered, I traced a route that's half the time with more twists, straights, and L/R turns. This could increase the turnaround to 2 rides per hour. And if the you find yourself short staffed, I would gladly volunteer my time=D Hopefully the organizers find it useful.

Thanks for all your input so far guys and gals! Very much appreciated, keep it coming! I will take these comments to our Suzuki rep and hopefully due to customer demand they will run things even better next time!

I'll just mirror what XTRAWLD said. Nice bikes but a limited number. More parking direction and a cleaner parking lot is required. Pick a little smaller route and get 2 rides in an hour.

Also any other demo ride I was at bottles of water and hot dogs were free. Just saying.

Overall the day was dissapointing for me as I didn't test out any bikes. It was well organized, but there just wasn't enough runs to keep up with demand.

I agree with everyone who posted so far.

I went to the Harley demo ride and they pretty much covered all the points. They had some doubles of popular bikes. They had shorter rides and staggered into two groups (guess so the chain of bikes isn't too long). Rides every 30 minutes. Mic and speaker to let everyone know of any anouncements and to keep things in order. Free bottles of water.

I'm only an M2 (will upgrade this year), so I'm probably not as trustworthy to organize the rides as others, but I would have volunteered with registration, refilling tanks, heck even run the BBQ... just as long as I get some private test rides afterwards ;).

As others have said, it was well organized, and I really appreciate that you set up the registration line in the shade.

Same goes for the VStrom650 as the gixxers - another one or two to demo would have been good, I showed up before 9am for that bike, and the earliest I could get a turn was 1pm (unfortunately I had to leave by then).

A rotation of two rides could have nearly doubled the number of rides you were able to get in the day.

Other than that, though, I thought it was good, the showroom was nice, lots to see while waiting for the ride.
I would definately do it again.

Thanks a lot for the response guys! Hopefully we can convince the Suzuki rep of some of these suggestions for next time! I am keeping my eyes and ears open for the Honda Demo tour and will be able to provide all of these suggestions from you guys. As of right now there are no listings on Hondas sight for demo day tour places and dates but we have done our Yamaha and Suzuki now so only Honda left.

Honda had their demo in Mississauga a few weeks ago. Would be nice if you guys could organize one too :).

They charged you for water / hot dogs!?

It was a pleasant enough experience.

Same feedback - I wish that I could have either had a longer ride, or if the rides were shortened, that there had been a second shift so I could've tried another bike. Or, it would've been nice to have a second model for the more popular bikes.

But overall... it was safe, well-run, and nothing really bad happened.

To be honest, the biggest message for Suzuki is that next time, I don't want to have to travel more than an hour for a demo ride.

I don't get it, the demo ride was posted on here about 2 weeks in advance and it's in the GTA where there is a crap load of riders. Obviously, everyone knew about the demo ride and it was gonna be busy. If you got there at 10am or 11am or what ever, I don't see why your angry you didn't get to ride a bike you really wanted, specifically the GSXR's (people in the other thread posted they were angry or disappointed) - It's different if you got there at 8:45 or 9am and there was a line up, well your just SOL if you had to wait till the 3rd or 4th ride to take it out. 15min less in bed could have saved you 2 hours in waiting time.

Improvements needed - More food, ran out and I wanted to get a hotdog at 12:30 - 1pm (hotdogs gone, but so many buns left inside)(should be free, even with a optional donation, some people feel bad there is a sign there, and see others able to donate - some people didn't have cash or change). Yes, I agree the more popular bikes should be doubled. But then again, everyone's popular bike is different and when have you gone to a demo ride where there are more then one of the model...Make the effort in the morning and arrive a bit earlier, it's nice enough the dealers actually organize the demo rides. (it dose suck they don't don't usually happen at smaller dealers but it makes sense as staff needed to run the event, more exposure in the gta is much easier at bigger dealers. ***Side note - talked to a guy on the showroom floor, didn't know anything about atv's. You have a customer come in who knows way more then a sales rep, not good. Products you offer, your staff needs to know each and ever one of them (bikes, atvs, seedoos, snow blowers, generators) or if they don't know, hand the customer off to someone who knows.

The good - Organized sign up and ride (microphone would be ideal as mentioned above because its such a big place), multiple models offered (even if you didn't get the one you wanted) - A lot of people had so much fun on the DRZ400sm apparently and they didn't even think of riding it, but they signed up for it.

Good overall day, came with a purpose, woke up, and road what I wanted 2x, that's all I care about - the ride.

Heads up guys and gals! Yamaha Power Tour is back at Brampton PowerSports on Aug 13! Check out the Yamaha Demo day thread for bike listings and more information!

LOL, Ya man, for sure have to be there super early if the turn out is anything like Suzuki. We have 10 bikes for demos which is 6 less than on our Suzuki demo tour but runs should be going every half hour instead of every hour just for a heads up.

Common bro they take you on a half hour ride using their gas and brand new bike and you're making a comment about 2 bucks?

It was for charity. I paid 10 bucks for that hot dog and felt good about it..

As for the ride, was good..would've been nice if i didn't have to wait around until 2 just to try one bike, coming from hamilton. Faster turnaround is a must.

I also noticed all the sand/gravel in the parking lot...made a comment to my friend they should've done something about that, but all in all was a decent day.
