The shortened form of Japanese is racist by those it matters to.....just like every other racist name....it's racist to the ppl that it affects.

The different colours are to identify each side differently. Doesn't mean you can't swap em though....just connect the correct mis-match.

That's why you check the wiring diagram, instead of making assumptions

According to the OE wiring diagram for my bike the left low beam should turn off when the right high beam is turned on, but it doesn't.

Are you looking at the North American wiring diagram, the European wiring diagram, the Australian/New Zealand wiring diagram, or the Asian wiring diagram? Many service manuals have them all.
