I broke a mirror off my bike 2 weeks ago like a moron. I am now putting rebuilt forks on my bike and of course I want to take it for a ride. So is it legal to just have 1 mirror on your bike or do you need 2. I should just go buy new mirror's but I would like to bring the bike with me to check them out (looks,fit, visibility) what say you gtam?

legally ....yes. It's up to you, but I don't like only 1 mirror....I like to see as much around me as I can.
 
I've been riding for years with no mirrors and never been bothered by cops for it.
 
Either way i have never gotten a ticket. I'm sure venom will be ok.

Lol that was funny. As much as I like the no mirror look, I don't like not having them either, even though I always do a shoulder check.

well if they are behind me and i never got a ticket then thats proof you really dont need mirrors right!
 
maybe thats why you really got pulled over
 
i know both for safety but other than that im not sure. even still if you get pulled over a cop is going to stick it to you no matter what, speeding signal whatever. you always have the option not to stop lol
 
Why would a safety certification go beyond what is required by law?

You only need one mirror, but it is specified (I think the left mirror). I think it's the same for cars.

I got a bike certified with one mirror and I think it was the left. But again, you can get just about any bike certified.....
 
I rode with one mirror for a while... Felt blind as a bat.... drove me nuts till I got a proper set. But one is better than none :)
 
this old guy remembers bikes only having one mirror - always on the left. i cant imagine riding without both now though.

@ yzfrikr1 : youre either joking about having no mirrors or else you have nerves of steel !! i know I couldnt sit at a stop light without knowing whats coming up on my *** end and wondering if its going to stop or not

I saw a guy with one mirror at the Bikes n Babes thing yesterday...I just assumed it was cosmetic. I had no idea.
 
Hey socially distorted, I'm not kidding, I really don't have mirrors on my bike. I just prefer it that way. I guess it boils down to individual choice/preference.
