Pulled Over By Cop For Giving 9-Year-Old Girl A Motorcycle Ride

Here:s the point; you take out that you were in you're car and instead were in the exact same scenarios on you're motorcycle with you're child on the back, now would you have the same protection for both of you as in you're car? would you have had the same impacts or resulted in the same outcome being on you're bike in these situations, most likely not! and that's the point, we all know cars are dangerous, leas they offer more protection and you're chance of being ok after a fender bender much better in a cage then on a bike, that's the point, 2 completely different outcomes in the exact same scenarios,we are going to have a lot more automobile incidents, why?, because they are the primary sources of transportation and by the thousands outnumber the % of motorcycles on the roads daily. lets throw in some innocent kids in the mix.Recipe for disaster.-Ty

You're talking out of both sides of your mouth. If you really felt that way about protecting your children, you wouldn't put YOURSELF at risk. Yet you ride one of the fastest motorcycles on the planet.

EDIT: DAMNIT - beaten to the punch

So that makes you invincible... you'll never get hit because you've been riding for 30 years..... Awesome logic:)

What Nyx was saying on the bike she feels safer because she can get out of those situations that you can't with a car...

I think if the parent is a responsible rider and puts the kid in full out gear head to toe, then why not let them ride with you. Like Nyx said a kid is more likely to get hurt doing other things....

Actually Yeah! the proof is, I`m still here alive & riding, must be something to my logic or method to my madness.-Ty

Ah yes of course. Cause you have magical powers that control the world around you. Hi five buddy.

No really it`s not an illlusion, it`s my reality, i`m really here, honest-Ty

To think that some thing can never happen to you because of your experience is delusional... There are somethings that are uncontrollable, and I hope you never have to find this out.

I was hit while standing at a corner.... so much experience doing that right... standing... you need a reality check...

We recently had a member die and she had way more experience than you and was an instructor and a road safety advocate. Was put into a situation where nothing she could have done would have saved her. Wake up man....

My reality check is, hey im still here after almost 30 yrs and as for she had way more experience than you, you dont know that or my history and experience is relative to the individual, there is no norm or way to measure experience. -Ty

we need to legislate swimming pools out of existence. To many kids drown nowadays.

Far more than kids under 14 who have died while riding as passengers in the last decade. Actually any number would be more than the number of kids under 14 who have died in the last decade, while riding as passengers on motorcycles.

Funny, but there was another 'Busa rider who said that he'd never crash and never would. Hell, he even said that he'd write a book about how he did it, so that others could benefit from it.

And then he crashed.

yeah, If, you`re going to regurgitate stats out there please show the numbers and how many kids swim(what is that like over 3 quarters of the population) to the ratio of kids that ride on motorcycles, any surprise less kids have been injured on the back of a motorcycle or compared to any other activities that children participate in, like rec hockey, school yards etc.

Actually that's unnecessary, as precisely no kids under the age of 14 have been injured while riding pillion on a motorcycle. That's not a statistic, it's a NON-statistic. It's not even a statistical anomaly. Zero. Nada. Goose-egg. The big banana. Zilch. Bupkiss. The non-number invented by the Babylonians. A non-issue requires a non-solution.

Please let me know where I can grab a copy of the book, make it out to on the 1st page: Dear Ty, all the Best-Cheers

My experience makes me invincible and I won't crash - my family is in no danger whatsoever of the consequences of me crashing on my motorcycle because it won't happen. Other people's randomness and mistakes don't matter because of my experience.

My experience counts for nothing and I won't ride with my daughter because it's too risky. Other people's randomness make it too dangerous. It's so dangerous, in fact, that I consider it child abuse, and I have the balls to be an internet hero / troll and call all the members on this site who enjoy sharing their passion for riding with their children child abusers.

Pick one.

Why does he keep saying Thank You?

Why does he keep saying Thank You?
It`s Ty as in TYBALT, Thank you!

Any Law that protects children has my support, BILL117 is good thing no different just like the mandatory seat belt laws and booster seats for children under a certain height & age, Keep our kids safe

If I witness people with children on the back of motorcycles, I will report you and see that you receive the appropriate fines and or penalties when Bill117 is imposed , the consequences for you`re poor judgements.-Ty

my issue with the ops original post is that the child can't reach the pegs, i would be worry about the boys feet swinging into tire or chain, loose piece of clothing from pants or shoelace getting caught...we have a few laws for passengers on bikes, being able to reach the pegs, or rather have a solid place to put the feet is a good one...i would also recommend gloves too...as for the popo, well, he looked it up and had his concern, but he wasn't a dick about it...just not a rider and therefore wan't exactly sure, we get a lot of info thrown at us nowadays...

if i have a kid as a passenger, to me it's feet on the pegs and be able to reach around my body and lock both hands...i won't be telling anyone else what to do, it's their life and their responsibility...
